Gojipedia

Gojipedia is a primarily Godzilla oriented encyclopedia. As it is a wiki, this means that everyone can edit any article at any time. However, with that comes a set of policies and rules that must be observed.

Gojipedia rules

Because Gojipedia is a small, low activity wiki, incidents and situations will generally be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. For ease of access, the following rules are divided by the types of activity on the wiki.

  1. Article policy: the guidelines on basic article structure. Please be familiar with these before editing.
    • Style guide - the format, content, and structure practices for all articles on a wiki.
      • No fan fiction is allowed in Gojipedia's articles, as it is not a fanon wiki. This is to prevent confusion between fan-made material and actual canon pages. If you wish to add fanfiction articles, then do so in the discussions, or other fanon websites.
      • No off-topic articles are allowed. This is not a wiki on every Kaiju franchise. Material that has not been involved with/associated with the Godzilla franchise is generally off-topic. If you want to find more non-Godzilla content, visit the wikis on the subject.
    • Citation - make sure to provide sources and links to a statement in order to affirm it is authentic and not copied without credit.
      • Plagiarism is not permitted on Gojipedia, copying the material from another database is considered uncreative and ill-considerate of taking credit for someone else's effort.
      • Speculation is not allowed on Gojipedia's articles. It is, however, allowed on discussions and comment sections.
    • Media in articles and how individual files are handled for licensing and categorizing.
    • Edit warring - Dispute resolution is far less formal than it is on Wikipedia. If you have a dispute with another user, first attempt to seek resolution on the comment section of the article. If that fails, ask other editors for opinions. If worse comes to worst, the staff will vote on it.
      • Edit wars will result in the warred-over article being locked temporarily.
    • Syntax - Use proper language and syntax on Gojipedia at all times.
      • As Gojipedia is not censored, profanity in articles should be done only in an encyclopedic manner.
  2. User policy: policies on good user conduct. These may apply in message walls and discussions.
    • Assume good faith - assume that the other editors on the wiki mean well.
    • Civility - be civil in your dealings with others. No personal attacks, unnecessarily abusive language, patronizing behavior, baiting, etc...
    • Username policy - usernames must meet appropriate standards.
    • Sockpuppetry is strictly prohibited and will result in a block.
  3. Admin policy: policies to help you get to know how site moderation operates.
    • Blocking - the protocol for rule-breaking and how to avoid it.
    • Deletion of an article comes from given reasons.
    • Protection is for articles that need a break from editing.
    • Vandalism is not tolerated and will result in a block.
    • Cleanup is a series of procedures for marking pages in need of maintenance.

Gojipedia discussion rules

The following rules are for the Gojipedia discussions, and can be read here. The warning-blocking process is in effect for users who do not follow these rules.

  1. Be nice and treat people with respect. Keep discussions civil and be open-minded about differing opinions, please do not purposefully insult or harass the other person over a disagreement.
  2. Threads and posts that solicit upvotes will be deleted. Fight posts may be an exception, unless it breaks the other rules.
  3. Keep posts relevant to the wiki topic. Topics related to other Kaiju franchises are allowed here and posts can include most things so long as it includes Godzilla in some way if not kaiju related, also posts relating to Gojipedia and its users are allowed here as long as it doesn't break any of the other rules. Furthermore, please refrain from posting about personal and/or real-life matters. If you have serious concerns and are seeking input, you may contact a staff member instead.
  4. Please be sure to structure your posts with content and legibility. Low effort posts are not allowed, this includes posts with only a sentence, an image with no explanation, or an image with little explanation. These will be deleted by moderator discretion. Art posts are an exception since they had the work already put into them before posting; however, we ask that you credit the artist if you did not make it.
  5. Off-topic conversations or posts that begin to veer into Off-Topic will be deleted, the only exception is the official Off-Topic post which has its own rules: https://godzilla.fandom.com/f/p/4400000000000094651
  6. Impersonation of other users or famous people will not be tolerated. If you have been banned and return on a new account, your posts will be deleted and your new account(s) will be banned.
  7. Spamming, trolling, or vandalizing of any kind will be deleted and will lead to your account being banned. Spamming or advertising other websites, unless they are other FANDOM websites, is also spam, and will be deleted.
  8. Please read and observe the Terms of Use for user conduct: fandom.com/terms-of-use. As per these Terms, avoid profanities and slurs that could potentially be disrespectful to other users. Pornographic content, nudity, graphic, sexually explicit, offensive content and/or shock media are strictly banned.
