The Cyber Flies (サイバネティックフライングアタックドローン?, Saibanetikku Furaingu Atakku Dorōn, lit. Cybernetic Flying Attack Drone) are robotic fly drones created by TriStar that first appeared in the 1998 Godzilla: The Series episode, The Winter of Our Discontent.

Origins[]

The Cyber Flies were robots created by Nick Tatopoulos' old college rival Cameron Winter.

History[]

Zilla Junior started acting strangely when he heard a loud sound coming from somewhere. He ended up heading for some tuna which came out of opening warehouse doors. Spotlights shone on his head as soon as he started eating the fish, and Cyber Flies came in from nowhere and attacked. Zilla Junior fired his atomic breath at one of them and shot it down, but they kept attacking. A Cyber Fly started injecting Zilla Junior with a green substance, and another one, directly by Cameron Winter pressing a button, shoves a neural-stimulating device into Zilla Junior's ear. Zilla Junior faints, as they rush towards him. Zilla wakes up and fires his atomic breath at them and shoots one of the Cyber Flies down. The H.E.A.T. crew tries to guide Zilla Junior into the ocean, but Zilla is bothered by the Cyber Flies and destroys one with his hands. After Cameron Winter introduces himself to H.E.A.T., Zilla Junior jumps over a hundred meters up in the air and bites a Cyber Fly, which explodes in his mouth.

Later on, Cameron Winter uses a Cyber Fly to capture Nick Tatopoulos and Monique Dupre. While Zilla Junior was rampaging under Cameron Winter's mind control via the neural stimulator on his ear, the H.E.A.T. team was monitoring Zilla Junior at Winter's own facility, thinking of some way to get Zilla Junior back to normal. Suddenly, three Cyber Flies appeared and were headed straight towards Zilla Junior to presumably kill him. However, pone of the Cyber Flies lands in Zilla Junior's ear lobe and destroys the neural stimulator, breaking Zilla's mind control. It turns out that the Cyber Flies got rid of Zilla Junior's stimulator because Randy Hernandez had hacked into the Cyber Flies' controls. As the F-18 Hornets approach Zilla Junior, Randy makes the Cyber Flies go towards the missiles to defend Junior. The Cyber Flies and the missiles collide, giving Zilla Junior time to escape.
