The ShodaiFairy's name comes from shodai (初代?), meaning first generation, and Fairy, which comes from Fairy Mothra's name.

The ShodaiFairy looks much like a chibi version of the HeiseiMosuImago, as its body is smaller and its head and eyes are bigger. The puppet's eyes also are a green-blue color instead of its successors' and HeiseiMosu's cyan. In addition, its legs are white, having the same bird claws as the film puppet, its 'whiskers' are short like the HeiseiMosu, and its underside is a dark brown.
