Hello all!
It's me, your wiki representative Nightsilver, with a message about the future on staff selection and promotions. Many of you have expressed a boost in moderation and assistance from staff. And as much as we would really love to help everyone, we also have real life outside Fandom which takes time away and keeps everyone busy. Fear not, though, we are always listening to your feedback, and we're here today to unveil our plan for staff selection going forward.
When it comes to promotions, all prospective users interested must meet the following standards to be considered. Basic requirements, such as knowledge and experience of our rules and good-faith, are good qualities to look for, however, every position will need more specific requirements to be eligible. These are all outlined on our staff overview page. These will ideally guarantee a more thorough screening on staff candidates.
Once these requirements are met, you can begin the next step: community vote! That's right, we've rolled out a new way to nominate oneself for rights by the input of fellow users. This will ensure users can have a say in the staff they pick and put the ones to help this community thrive. If one meets the requirements listed above, the nominee can then fill out a form and submit it into the admin noticeboard, where the users can add their votes. After one week, it will go through a final count to be approved or rejected, and if it is in favor, viola! A new staff member added to the team! For a full review on this process, you can visit the rights request guide to reference anytime.
To everyone who suggested what we can do to improve management around here, thank you for your feedback. We greatly appreciate your patience, and we hope that this new method for staff selection will turn out an active team of moderators to assist you at full capacity. As always, we encourage you to let us know what you think in forum feedback, and feel free to comment below your thoughts or questions on the update.
Thank you for reading, and have a great week, everybody!
