Template:Tabber2Legendary Template:Infobox Monster Abaddon, also dubbed Titanus Abaddon, is a giant daikaiju created by Legendary Pictures that appears in Legendary's 2019 film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, as a name briefly seen on a monitor.
Name
"Abaddon" is a Biblical Fallen Angel, sometimes the Angel of Death and sometimes the Angel of Destruction. He is notably mentioned to have had an army of locusts. It is unknown whether Titanus Abaddon has any connection to the angel, or whether it's just a codename designated by Monarch for an unknown reason. The original depiction of Abaddon in Judaism was of a location of Destruction and Death as opposed to an actual being, comparable to Hell. The name might just be because it lives in Devil's Tower.
History
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
At some point before 2019, Monarch established an outpost around Abaddon in Devils Tower, Wyoming. When Ghidorah calls all the Titans, Abaddon breaks free and begins to hunt with its new pack. When the ORCA calls all Titans to Boston, Abaddon does not arrive in time to see Godzilla become the new Alpha of all Titans (except Kong).
Trivia
- The outpost Abaddon was contained in, Monarch Outpost 77, is a possible reference to the 1977 Toho film The War in Space, and the film The Last Dinosaur (1977 film). Or possibly 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'
