Right, so... we killed our best shot at beating this thing?
― Martinez, regarding the Oxygen Destroyer "killing" Godzilla and Ghidorah's survival.
Overview

Staff Sergeant Anthony Martinez is a soldier character who first appeared in the 2019 MonsterVerse film, Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Personality[]

Anthony's parents instilled in him the values of community and looking out for other people, so he considers helping others more than just a job. Anthony is the type of selfless person who will run into a burning building when everyone else runs the opposite direction. As a part of the G-Team, he wants to test his skills and do his part in a world more endangered than before with the emergence of Titans. Martinez is also somewhat of a snarker akin to his companion Jackson, finding grim hilarity in his own race's self-destructive impulsiveness. Extently seen when voicing how humanity pretty much critically injured the only one capable of stopping an extraterrestrial dominant predator from pulling their planet inside out in a blind panic.

History[]

Graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, Anthony was a reservist working in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) before he joined the military. Recruited for the G-Team by Colonel Diane Foster for his expertise as a combat search and rescue specialist, Anthony was activated by Monarch on February 3, 2015 with fellow soldiers, Jackson Barnes and Lauren Griffin.[1]
