Template:Infobox TechArtillery tanks, also dubbed Artillery and Tanks generically are vehicles that are introduced and utilized in the 2017 Godzilla film, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters.
Appearance
Artillery tanks have four "legs" and two cannons. They have wheel-like treads on the tips of their limbs that enable movement. These tanks can alter their locomotion from rolling on their treads to utilizing their limbs as actual legs in a manner oddly akin to Halo 3's Scarab tank.
History
Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters
Artillery tanks were mainly used for transportation purposes, moving personnel between positions. They would be first utilized against the Servum while mounted on landing ships, enabling easier eradication of the monsters.
Shortly after, Eliott Leland would force his crew out of the tank he was in and begin bombarding Godzilla Filius with artillery fire, near Haruo Sakaki's position. While the tank was powerful enough to activate Godzilla's shield and betray the location of its generating organ, it wasn't powerful enough to do lasting damage on its own, and Filius proceeded to demolish the tank, and Eliott with it.
For the final stand against Godzilla, multiple tanks were set up in specific areas around the trapping point, and were able to lay down fire on the monster. This in turn ended up damaging its dorsal plates and allowing for Haruo and the Exosuit team to plant EMP probes into the monster's spine, resulting in its destruction.
Once Godzilla Earth awoke and made his presence known, these tanks were used to escape from the gigantic creature, with one being destroyed by falling debris from a crippled landing ship.
Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle
Rilu-elu Belu-be, Yuko Tani, and Adam Bindewald would take cover in a destroyed tank as Maina attacked them, and later, Metphies would command one remaining tank, which he would use to save Haruo and his group from Servum.
Arsenal
Cannons
The tank is mounted with two cannons that are able to fire independently of one another. Alone, they were unable to do damage to Godzilla, but groups of the vehicles can destroy Godzilla's dorsal fin and allow for attacks to the creature itself.
