While the creatures do not have an official canon name or designation, author Marie Anello reveals that in the script for the comic, the creatures were referred to as "parasites", "minions", and "smaller Titans".[citation needed]
Design[]
Appearance[]
Camazotz's Minions resemble their larger alpha with large leathery wings, talons, angular plate-like armor, jagged teeth, dark manes of fur covering parts of the neck and back, and long spiked tails. They possess horns, though not as large or ornate as compared to the horns seen on Camazotz. They lack the jagged spines seen on the alpha Titan's wings. They seemingly have no eyes, as their sockets are little more than dark, empty pits.
Roar[]
Just like their alpha, their roars are written as "skreeeeee".
Personality[]
Camazotz's Minions are aggressive creatures, and follow their alpha's commands without falter while acting as his personal legion. The creatures share a symbiotic relationship with Camazotz, who allows the monsters to follow him and serve as his army, while in return they are allowed to feed off of and benefit from any destruction Camazotz has caused. Upon witnessing the defeat of Camazotz, the creatures fled back into the Hollow Earth in a panicked frenzy, showing that they rely deeply on the leadership of an alpha and cannot function as an organized flock without one.
Origins[]
Like Camazotz, the creatures originate from the Hollow Earth, inhabiting particularly dark regions of the subterranean ecosystem. Author Marie Anello implies that, while the creatures share a common ancestry with the Titanus Camazotz superspecies, they are a part of their own separate species.[citation needed]
In the year 2019, along with Camazotz, the creatures emerge near the city of San Diego and proceed to swarm the city with their alpha. As Camazotz perches atop a mountain, the creatures are seen battling fighter jets.
In 2021, the creatures join Camazotz once more during his invasion of Skull Island, swarming Kong and battling Monarch fighter jets sent to intercept them. During the battle, dozens of the creatures are swatted out of the air or crushed in the fist of Kong, while others are shot down by the Monarch jets. After Camazotz was thrown back into the Hollow Earth by Kong, the remaining members of the swarm frantically follow their defeated alpha back underground.
Abilities[]
Flight[]
As vaguely bat-like creatures, Camazotz's minions were capable of quick, full-powered flight. They were able to keep up with fighter jets in terms of speed, and were fast enough to dodge Kong's attacks mid-flight.
Strength and Combat[]
Camazotz's minions were able to destroy Monarch fighter jets mid-flight, using their talons and maw of jagged teeth to tear into and crush the aircraft with ease.
Weaknesses[]
Explosives[]
Despite being covered in dense plate-like armor, a direct hit from a missile is enough to kill the creatures, often causing them to burst into flames.
Hive-minded[]
The creatures appear to operate in a hivemind of sorts, with Camazotz acting as the alpha of the flock. When Camazotz was thrown back into the Hollow Earth by Kong, the creatures descended into a panicked frenzy and followed their defeated alpha back underground.
