Godzilla is also confirmed to appear in the game, while the player must flee from him whenever he makes landfall. Famitsu's scans for the game also feature a silhouette that strongly resembles an Evangelion.

City Shrouded in Shadow opened with immense opening sales, placing second during its launch, with 48,935 units sold on the PlayStation 4, not counting digital sales. In comparison, 2014's Godzilla VS video game opened at number ten, with 7,729 units sold. The game's PlayStation 3 port in comparison also only sold 19,777 units, making City Shrouded in Shadows a large success for the company who previously published said Godzilla title.[1]
