Template:Infobox MonsterDagon also dubbed 5146_ADAM was a member of Godzilla's species that first appeared in the 2019 MonsterVerse graphic novel, Godzilla: Aftershock.

Name

Dagon is seemingly named after the Canaanite fertility and agricultural god commonly thought to be an ocean god thanks to being featured in H.P. Lovecraft's works.

Design

Appearance

Being apart of the same species, Dagon had many of the traits of Godzilla himself. This includes jagged dorsal plates, dark coarse skin, yellow eyes, gills, wide feet, a robust head, and short forearms.

Personality

Dagon did not exhibit much of a personality, but it appears that he had a tolerance for humans, allowing them to get close to him. When he spotted MUTO Prime, the arch-rival of his species, he immediately engaged her in hopes of killing her.

History

Godzilla: Aftershock

Dagon encountered and fought with the parasitic MUTO Prime. After a brief fight, Dagon was beaten to the brink of death by MUTO Prime, who then proceeded to implant her eggs into Dagon's stomach lining. The eggs would go on to feed off of Dagon's nuclear-rich blood while he still lived, which eventually killed him.

Godzilla

Dagon's skeleton would be seen following a mine collapse in the Philippines, as would the remains of the eggs laid in him. Ishiro Serizawa would be present, overlooking the creature's massive ribs and a subsequent hole dug out of the mountain wall, with a trail of destruction leading to the ocean.

Abilities

Same as Godzilla:

  • Atomic Breath.
  • Jaws.
  • Claws.
  • Tail.
  • Dorsal Spikes.
  • Durability (scales).
  • Strength and weight.
  • Amphibious capacity.

Weaknesses

Dagon's weak spot is his gills (and eyes). Like Godzilla, when his gills are hit, they will bleed.

As with Godzilla, Dagon's atomic breath would be significantly weakened by the MUTO's EMP.
