Deplectors are a species of giant crustacean Kaiju that appears in King Kong (2005).
The most striking feature of deplectors is their huge claws that they use to capture their prey, they have 6 legs, it completely lacks eyes but has sophisticated antennas that allow it to pick up vibrations from the air, males are tiny in size compared to females and their body never hardens unlike female specimens
After having an encounter with King Kong, the crew of the SS Venture wakes up in a crevasse inhabited by giant insects, when one of the crew tries to escape by climbing the walls of the site, is trapped by a Deplector and taken into its hole. While some Arachni-Claws fight over the corpse of a sailor, a Deplector appears and catches the body when it is thrown into the air, then one is seen approaching the men along with hordes of other insects with the intention of devouring them, but they are interrupted. by the rest of the crew that begins to shoot from above, taking down multiple Arachni-Claws and destroying the claws of a Deplecotor that peeked out of its hole, then the crew escaped from the abyss.
Claws: Deplectors have gigantic claws that they use to catch and kill their prey.
Antennas: Their antennas allow the Depelectors to feel the vibrations of the air to be able to locate animals that pass near them and to compensate for their lack of eyes.
Strength: They possess enough strength to subdue humans and large animals effortlessly.
Elastic excretions: They can excrete elastic excrements that allow them to stick to the interior of their cave avoiding a fall.
Firearms: Bullets from firearms can pierce Deplectors' armor.
Lack of eyes: They can be tricked by throwing objects so that they mistake it for prey and thus come out of hiding.
