The EMP probe is a weapon that was introduced and utilized in the 2017 Godzilla film, Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters.

The EMP probe bears the appearance of a general drill-type mechanism. The projectile of the EMP probe looks akin to a harpoon, and possesses a set of hooks on its tip. The projectile has a thruster on its base, which propels it into whatever the EMP probe's anchored onto.

The function of the EMP probe is simplistic. The weapon uses an EMP, or electromagnetic pulse against its target.

Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters

The EMP probe was utilized against Godzilla Filius during the ending stage of the attack against the monster. Haruo Sakaki and Yuko Tani, alongside an Exosuit team buried multiple probes in the spine of the monster, following the destruction of its dorsal plates, and subsequently, its shield.

The team succeeded in their goal, and the embedded probes began to cause an electromagnetic overload within the titan's body, which resulted in his demise shortly after.
