The Ganime  (ガニメ,   Ganime?) of the AniGoji continuity is a giant coconut crab-like kaiju created by Toho that first appeared in Godzilla: Monster Apocalypse, with a seeming subspecies appearing in the 2018 sequel novel, Godzilla: Project Mechagodzilla.

History[]

Godzilla: Monster Apocalypse[]

Ganime claimed the Arctic Bering sea as its territory, and Alaskan fishermen were afraid of its rampages during their crab fishing seasons.

It was suggested that it may move or migrate southward by 2030.

Godzilla: Project Mechagodzilla[]

In December 2047, colonial crustacean-like organisms with "red exoskeletons and the ability to dissolve steel-made doors" attacked a research facility with regards to Hedorah in North America.

Humanity considered these a subspecies of Ganime, but the actual identity of the creatures are unclear due to the difficulties involved in conducting studies among continents that were abandoned by human forces.

Trivia[]

  • Unlike Kamoebas and Gezora, Ganime had been confirmed as an individual monster while there were two Ganimes and single individuals of the other two in the 1970 film Space Amoeba, and was the only monster completely changed its habitat, and migrated from temperate to tropical regions.
  • Descriptions of the red colonial organisms strongly resemble that of Destoroyahs in earlier forms.
