Godzilla's lair is a massive cavern within the Hollow Earth. It is the headquarters of Godzilla and, as such, provides a place of shelter, healing, and history. Like Godzilla's other lair seen in Godzilla: King of the Monsters , there appears to be a temple or small city built into the cavern, presumably formerly inhabited by Godzilla's ancient human worshippers. Massive murals depicting Godzilla and members of his species interacting with humans and whales decorate the entrance to the temple.
Seeking a place to rest and regenerate, Godzilla heads to this lair, intending to reclaim control of it from a Unidentified Titanus Kong individual that had defeated and thrown him out eons ago. Instead, Godzilla encounters Tiamat , and the two monsters engage in a vicious underwater battle. Eventually Godzilla and Tiamat surface and bring their fight to the lair itself, where Tiamat is quickly defeated. Godzilla finds the skull of his ancient Titanus Kong rival, before heading further into the cavern to rest.
