Godzilla: Gangsters and Goliath is IDW 's first limited comic series focusing on the Godzillla series. The series is composed of 5 issues. The series ran from June-October 2011.

Overview
Detective Makoto Sato has been framed for the murder of his own partner by savage Yakuza boss Ryoto Takahashi, and taken out to the sea to be disposed of. He escapes his captors and makes hit way to the nearest island... Monster Island. There, he encounters the massive Kaiju and servants of Mothra, including the Elias. Sato takes the Elias with him to Tokyo, hoping to use Mothra to destroy the Takahashi syndicate, but his actions will have devastating consequences for the city.
