The Godzilla soundtrack was initially released in 1998, with music by Akira Ifukube. It consisted of 21 tracks.
The soundtrack got a second release under the distribution of the Toho Music Corporation on September 20, 2004. This re-release contained an additional 6 tracks, including 4 bonus tracks out of the 6, bringing the total up to 27.
The soundtrack was then re-released once more under a new distributor: Classic Media International on April, 19, 2010. This re-release retained the same songs barring the radio dialogue from the 2004 re-release, bringing the final count down to 26.
On August 24, 2016, a new release of the soundtrack was launched. This was a re-recording of the film's entire score, arranged and conducted by Kaoru Wada.
