The Godzilla (ゴジラ?) is an unmade bio-engineered Gojirakaiju from the unmade 1994 American Godzilla film, Godzilla.
Appearance[]
In the original script and concept art, Godzilla is a realistic take on the 1990s Godzilla design with features of both dinosaurs and crocodilians.
Origin[]
As told in the script for the discarded 1994 film, Godzilla is a bioweapon created by an alien civilization using dinosaur genes.
History[]
Godzilla (1994)[]
In the early script by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot, Godzilla awakens from his slumber in Alaska before he attacks the Japanese Kurila islands while eating fish and trees during his rampage.
Godzilla was soon seen dispatching a group of navy submarines and swims towards San Francisco where he was subdued by amniotic fluid and was taken to a containment camber, but he wakes up and breaks out to fight the Gryphon.
Once arriving back on San Francisco, Godzilla and the Gryphon battled each other to the death with Godzilla coming out on top before he disappears back to the ocean once more.
Sony's executives could not agree on the proposed budget for the film, eventually causing would-be director Jan De Bont to drop out of the project.
After several rewrites to the script and several unsuccessful attempts to renegotiate the budget and find a new director, TriStar brought in Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin to direct and produce the film, who accepted on the condition that they be allowed to discard the original script and handle the film however they wanted. Ironically, Emmerich and Devlin's 1998 Godzilla ended up being more expensive than the proposed budget for De Bont's film that Sony and he could not agree on.
Abilities[]
Atomic Breath[]
Godzilla can fire a blast of atomic fire from its mouth.
Claws and Teeth[]
Godzilla can use its sharp teeth and claws to tear into an opponent's flesh.
Tail[]
Godzilla has a long tail that can be used to knock over buildings and other monsters.
Trivia[]
- This Godzilla shares some similarities with the 1995 Gamera. Both are said to be a guardian monster genetically engineered by an ancient civilization, and supposedly destined to save the planet from a different monster. Like Gamera, the military mistakenly believes Godzilla is the larger threat and spends a portion of the film attacking him before ultimately allowing him to battle his enemy. It also ends with Godzilla beheading his opponent like Gamera with Gyaos, and wading out to the ocean.
- This Godzilla is said to be an artificially created species rather than being a naturally born or irradiated species as in the original Toho series and the MonsterVerse.
