Godzilla (ゴジラ,   Gojira?) of GEMSTONE's Godzilla continuity is a daikaiju designed by Takuya Uenishi that first appears in the 2019 GEMSTONE fan short film Godzilla vs. Gigan and returned in the 2022 Toho-produced sequel Godzilla vs. Gigan Rex and the 2023 film Godzilla vs. Megalon.

Design[]

Development[]

This Godzilla was designed by Takuya Uenishi, a CGI director and VFX artist who previously modeled Godzilla in Shin Godzilla, as an unofficial fan-made version for G vs. G, a short film based on Godzilla vs. Gigan. Uenishi made the film as a submission to the 2019 cross-collaboration contest held by Toho and Japanese YouTube channel GEMSTONE. The film consisted of a two-minute cinematic trailer, in which a Gigan had crash-landed and attacked a nearby city and began fighting the military, its presence draws the attention of Godzilla who goes to confront it, and later on at night they battle briefly with Godzilla destroying it before four more Gigans descend to battle Godzilla, however Godzilla destroys them with a blast of his atomic breath resulting in a huge explosion.

Uenishi was then selected as the winner of the contest,[2] with his prize being the chance to work on an official sequel to his project using full access to Toho's resources.[3]

Appearance[]

Godzilla is a massive reptilian creature that has charcoal-colored skin and red eyes. His skin texture and arms' alignment are strongly similar to Shin Godzilla, but with a more muscular build that shares many features of the Heisei Godzilla.

Personality[]

Godzilla is shown to ignore humans and doesn't even outright seek to destroy any buildings in both the first short film and the trailer for the second, however he will go after and fight anything he views as a potential threat, as shown when he hunted down the Gigan Miles to confront it.

History[]

Godzilla vs. Gigan Rex[]

Godzilla had been absent for 25 years, but reappeared after a group of Gigan Miles attacked a city. Godzilla arrived and killed one of the Gigan Miles, tearing its throat out and throwing its body at the other Gigans. One of the Gigan troops leaped at Godzilla, who caught the creature before slamming it onto the ground. Godzilla dodged a blade attack from a second Gigan before a third Gigan leaped on Godzilla's back, attempting to use its buzzsaw to cut into Godzilla's back while Godzilla was pelted by the eye laser from the second Gigan. Godzilla easily dispatched the one on his back with a blast from his dorsal spines before firing his atomic breath and killing the other. Godzilla, seeming to be victorious, was then challenged by an unknown creature crashing in the city. The smoke cleared, revealing Gigan Rex.

Gigan Rex struck Godzilla's arms with his blades before opening his chest, revealing a large, eye shaped object. Gigan Rex let loose a powerful laser beam on Godzilla. The atomic beast returned fire, causing Gigan Rex to leap out into the air and retaliate with his blades. Godzilla caaught Gigan Rex's chain blades and tossed his opponent away. Gigan Rex stabilized himself with his tail, but Godzilla struck Gigan Rex with a tail swipe. Gigan Rex, blocking an Atomic Breath with his claws, summoned help with an ominous glow from his forehead.

Nine more Gigan Miles appeared, bending their skin away and pushing out their buzzsaws farther than they should be. Godzilla was hit by laser after laser, before being dogpiled by the Gigan. Godzilla began pulsing, his chest and dorsal spines turning white. He instantly killed three of the Gigan Miles with a nuclear blast. Gigan Rex forcesdthe remaining six to surrender their power cores to empower their leader. Gigan Rex flew up into the air, his chains draining power from the dead Gigans' cores. Godzilla fired his atomic breath, and Gigan Rex fired his own beam. After a brief beam clash, Godzilla's atomic breath overcame Gigan Rex's laser, frying Gigan Rex. His charred corpse fell to the city below, and Godzilla was victorious once again.

Godzilla vs. Megalon[]

As civilians rode a train through the city, planes flew overhead and smoke and fire was seen in the distance, and a blast of atomic breath shot over the tops of the buildings, speculated to be searching for Gigan Miles remains to destroy that were stashed away in a military base. Tanks traveled down the streets towards the battle while Godzilla appeared from behind the buildings, and opened fire as a soldier described the beast's exhaustion and lessened energy.

Later on in the night, Godzilla continued his march though the cityscape, with citizens walking towards him. Fighter jets flew overhead and fired, causing the people to panic while Megalon appeared from the sky, firing more napalm bullets at the tanks on the ground. Godzilla looked up towards his foe as Megalon launched a volley of Geothermal Napalm at Godzilla, and Megalon reached out one of his drill arms, slamming into the ground and flattening a large portion of the city in a huge shockwave. As the dust cleared, Megalon pulled his drill arm from the ground and the two monsters faced off, roaring at eachother. Godzilla attempted to it Megalon with his tail but was too slow, and the insect monster leaped into the air and hovered. Godzilla fired his atomic breath upwards but his opponent dodged that as well, and Megalon retaliated with his Beast Killer Light Ray, electrocuting Godzilla. He then flew down and smashed a drill arm into the King of the Monsters, knocking Godzilla backwards before electrocuting him again with the ray. Godzilla disrupted the beam with a short nuclear pulse and began charging energy, transferring it to his arm as Megalon rushed towards him. When the flying monster reached him, Godzilla punched him in the face, resulting a large explosion that knocked Megalon to the ground.

The two engaged in melee combat, with Godzilla hitting Megalon with charged slaps while Megalon shielded with his drill arms. Megalon attempted to hit his foe with a drill but Godzilla shot him with a short blast of atomic breath, but Megalon counterattacked with a barrage of napalm bullets, knocking Godzilla onto his back. Megalon jumped up and flew towards him, but Godzilla used his nuclear pulse to blast himself off the ground and into a flying dropkick, slamming into Megalon and knocking him to the ground. As Megalon was staggered, Godzilla reached him and grabbed his horn, with Megalon struggling to release his grasp by discharging the Beast Killer electricity from his horn and stabbing his drill arms into the reptilian. However, Godzilla charged his energy into his hand again and shoved it upwards, uppercutting Megalon with a burst of energy and breaking off his horn. Megalon was sent flying backwards into some buildings, and fell to the ground as Godzilla's arm glowed orange with burn scars. The Seatopian stood in front of Megalon's face and held the engraved stone up once more and her whole body glowed, and disappeared in a small flash of light. Megalon suddenly rose to his feet, roaring. He spread his wings and put his drills together, interlocking and combining them into a single, large spinning mechanism and flew into Godzilla, drilling into Godzilla's flesh and propelling him through the city. As Megalon roared, Godzilla entered his glowing white, special state, and shot a single blast of his white atomic breath, vaporizing a large swath of the city and cleaving Megalon in half. The insect monster's top half drifted on his wings before coming to a halt, his eyes dimming. Godzilla, now badly scorched, roared in victory before collapsing to the ground.

Sometime later, Godzilla's eyes opened and he awoke.

Abilities[]

Atomic breath[]

Godzilla's most iconic and powerful ability is his atomic breath. The blue beam is composed of pure radiation, it is shown to be extremely powerful as it caused an enormous explosion that killed four Gigan Miles at once. It can also be projected in form of short burst as shown while fighting Megalon.

Strength[]

While his most powerful ability is his atomic breath Godzilla is also shown to be capable of not only fighting Gigan Miles one-on-one but beating it as well, this physical strength translates to the sequel as well as he is shown stopping both Gigan Miles' and Gigan Rex's attacks and pushing them away. In the fight with Megalon, he can channel atomic energy to empower his fists, which effective to counter Megalon's drill arm strikes and notably breaked his horn.

Durability[]

Godzilla is shown to be capable of withstanding damage from multiple Gigan Miles at once and from Gigan Rex's Chest Beam, and wasn't bothered by military fire. He withstanded the collision caused by Megalon's flight, which created a crater on the ground, and then many attacks from him and notably survived Megalon's attack with lance-liked weapon for a while before it could pierce through his flesh.

Atomic Pulse[]

Godzilla is capable of firing off a pulse of Atomic Energy from its dorsal plates, it uses this in the first film to back off attacking Gigan Miles. He can even projects the energy pulse from his back as sort of improvised thruster both to get himself on his feet and perform flying kick from considerable distance at the same time.

Powered state[]

Godzilla was shown to be capable of powering himself up, he gains white patterns on his body in this state and his attacks are amplified with his atomic breath turning white. It appears he can also do this at will and only as last resort; notably, first when getting overwhelmed by the Gigan Miles and Gigan Rex and later, to cleave Megalon into half before the latter could pierce through his hide with his combined drill arms.
