Godzilla is a daikaiju that appears in the 2025 manga Godzilla Galaxy Odyssey by Akita Publishing, which is also written by Ju Ishiguchi. In this universe, Godzilla is set to fight a new monster from outer space named Volga, along with the help of an entity resembling the Gotengo.
Name[]
Godzilla's name in the Galaxy Odyssey universe follows the convention of that of the Showa era Godzilla, being a transliteration of Gojira (ゴジラ?), a combination of two Japanese words: gorira (ゴリラ?), meaning gorilla, and kujira (鯨 or クジラ?) meaning whale.

Development[]
While it is unknown the exact date the development for the manga started, the new incarnation of this Godzilla was officially announced on Godzilla Day on November 3, 2024.
Appearance[]
From the key visual, this Godzilla has a build similar to Final Wars Godzilla but also resembles Heisei Godzilla in design. He has the traditional charcoal gray coloration, along with his smooth, but scaly skin. Godzilla has a long neck with a dromaesaur-like face, along with a row of sharp teeth, fangs, pointy ears, and reddish-orange eyes. Like the Singular Point Godzilla, this Godzilla has sharp spikes running under his forearm and protruding from his elbows, with additional two rows of these spikes.
Godzilla has a long, sharp tail, along with two spikes on his legs, one on his kneecaps and one row of these spikes going down to his feet. Godzilla retains his large and iconic, bone-white dorsal plates that run from his lower neck to the end of his tail, the shape of which resemble Kiryu's dorsal fins. Unique to this version, however, are the blue crystalline spikes protruding from his dorsal plates. These crystals go from the smallest dorsal plate on his back all the way to the twelfth to last dorsal plate on his tail.
There seems to be a mark on Godzilla's chest region that goes from his neck all the way to his lower body, as shown in the latest teaser.
Personality[]
Godzilla's personality is similar to the original Godzilla, as well as Showa, Heisei, and Millennium, where he emerges from the ocean and attacks the city he encounters, as shown in the first chapter of Galaxy Odyssey. However, Godzilla does have some sort of anti-hero intentions where he makes landfall and battles Volga.

Trivia[]
- This Godzilla is the third incarnation to include spikes under his arms. The first was Singular Point Godzilla, while another incarnation, the Minus One Godzilla, also included jutting spikes on his elbows. In addition, this is the first Godzilla to have spikes on his knees as well.
- Unlike previous incarnations, this is the first Godzilla to include blue coloring on his dorsal plates. Past versions of the character were able to emit a blue glow from their dorsal plates, but the plates themselves were not blue.
