Godzilla is a series of figures made by NECA. Each NECA figure stands over 6 inches tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12 inches long. They are very detailed and have nearly 30 points of articulation.

Figures

Godzilla 2014

NECA's Godzilla 2014 figures come in two sizes. One is 6 inches tall and began shipping on May 16th.[1] The other is 12 inches tall, features more articulation, sound effects and was released in July 2014.[2]

6" tall (12" length) figure

  • Description: "From one of the most anticipated movie releases this year, the relaunch of the classic Godzilla franchise. This 6″ tall figure is highly detailed and fully articulated, and 12” long from head to tail! Over 25 points of articulation and a bendable tail. This classic movie monster has never looked so good in toy form."

12" tall (24" length) figure

  • Description: "From one of the most anticipated movie releases this year, the relaunch of the classic Godzilla franchise. This 12″ tall action figure with is highly detailed and fully articulated, and 24” long from head to tail! Over 25 points of articulation, bendable tail, and sound effects. Batteries included. The classic movie monster has never looked so good in toy form."

Godzilla 1994

NECA's Godzilla 1994 is the second figure in the line.

  • Description: "In celebration of the new Godzilla motion picture, we begin to explore the classic decade-spanning franchise. Our first offering is based on the 1994 movie version of the beloved monster Godzilla from Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla. The figure stands over 6″ tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12″ long. It features incredible detail and nearly 30 points of articulation."

Godzilla 1984

Godzilla 1984 is the third figure in the line. Fan response to initial sculpts of the figure having a small head lead to a reworking of the figure to become more screen accurate.

  • Description: "In celebration of the new Godzilla motion picture, we begin to explore the classic decade-spanning franchise, with our second version of the beloved monster based on the movie Godzilla 1985 (originally titled The Return of Godzilla). The figure stands over 6″ tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12″ long. It features incredible detail, including a bendable tail and nearly 30 points of articulation!"

Burning Godzilla

Burning Godzilla is the fourth figure in the line. It was scheduled to be released in January of 2015, but did not finally see release until early March.

  • Description: "Celebrating the most famous kaiju of all time, we continue to explore the classic decade-spanning Godzilla franchise! This version of the beloved monster is based on the 1995 movie Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. The figure stands over 6″ tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12″ long. It features incredible “burning” details, a bendable tail and nearly 30 points of articulation!"

Godzilla 1954

Godzilla 1954 is the fifth figure in the line. It was originally scheduled for a spring 2015 release, but was pushed back to September, with the release of the Video Game Godzilla figure being pushed up before it.

  • Description: "Celebrating the most famous kaiju of all time, we go back to the beginning of the classic decade-spanning Godzilla franchise! This version of the beloved monster is based on the original black-and-white Godzilla movie, released in 1954. The figure stands over 6″ tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12″ long. It features incredible detail, a bendable tail and nearly 30 points of articulation!"

Classic Video Game Appearance Godzilla

Classic Video Game Appearance Godzilla is the sixth figure in the line, representing Godzilla as he appeared in the 1988 Nintendo Entertainment System game Godzilla: Monster of Monsters. It was announced at Toy Fair 2015. It is partially made from the mold of the Godzilla 1984 figure, but features new dorsal plates and a light blue color scheme with some pixels painted on its body, to match Godzilla's sprite in the game. It began shipping on June 25, 2015.

  • Description: "Based on his appearance in the 1988 game for the popular 8-bit home console, Godzilla stands over 6″ tall and is nearly 12” long, with over 30 points of articulation (including bendable tail) and all new dorsal plates to match his in-game silhouette. Stylized paint deco reproduces the video game’s pixilated look. The figure comes in special window box packaging inspired by the classic video game cartridge box."

Godzilla 2001

On February 13, 2016, NECA revealed images of an unpainted prototype Godzilla 2001 figure, which was to be showcased later at Toy Fair. On March 9, 2016, Toho Kingdom posted official pictures of the finished figure on Twitter.[3][4] The figure was originally scheduled for a July 2016 release, but was pushed back to October.[5]

  • Description: "This version of the beloved monster is based on the 2001 movie Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, a spectacular battle between Godzilla and some of his most famous foes. The figure stands over 6″ tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12″ long. It features incredible detail and over 30 points of articulation, including an articulated tail!"

Godzilla 2016

An unpainted prototype figure of Godzilla based on his appearance in Godzilla: Resurgence was seen alongside NECA's upcoming Godzilla and Pacific Rim figures at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. On Twitter, NECA stated that the figure was estimated for a winter release, and that a special announcement would be made in October.[6]

Unannounced Figures

NECA confirmed via Twitter that they have three more Godzilla figures awaiting release that have yet to be revealed. NECA also confirmed on Twitter that they have created a prototype Godzilla 2014 figure featuring translucent blue dorsal plates, but Toho has not yet approved it.[7] On January 14, 2016, NECA confirmed via their Twitter page that a new Godzilla figure would be revealed at Toy Fair 2016 in February.[8] They also revealed that they hoped to release at least three new Godzilla figures in 2016, and maybe more if there was enough time and Toho approved them.[9] On January 19, NECA confirmed that the upcoming figure to be revealed at Toy Fair would not be based on a Godzilla design from the 1960's.[10] The figure to be revealed at Toy Fair was later shown to be Godzilla 2001. On May 7, NECA reiterated via Twitter that more Godzilla figures in the line would be coming after Godzilla 2001.[11]

Scrapped Figures

According to the official NECA Twitter page, figures for Ghost Godzilla, the Marvel Godzilla, and the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla were considered and suggested to Toho, who refused the ideas.[12][13]
