Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe is a 2025 limited comic book series published by Marvel Comics in association with Toho Company Ltd., based on the Godzilla series. The series will be a crossover between Godzilla and the Marvel Comics universe as the successor to the one-shot series Godzilla vs. Marvel. It is set to release on July 16, 2025.[1]
Development[]
Prior to 2024, Marvel Comics engaged Toho with talks of borrowing their license for a crossover event for several years. According to Marvel VP of licensing and publishing, Sven Larsen, the two teams eventually agreed to directly collaborate, while the pitches behind the crossovers would form the stories in the Godzilla vs. Marvel one-shot issues.[2] The series wa announced in 2024 to coincide with the celebration of Godzilla's 70th anniversary.[2] Following the one-shot comics, another Godzilla-Marvel limited series in development, Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, was set to release during summer 2025.[3][1]
It is written by by Gerry Duggan, the writer for Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, with art by Javier Garrón (Uncanny X-Men).
