Godzilla Fest 4: Operation Jet Jaguar (フェス・ゴジラ4 オペレーション ジェットジャガ?) is a Fesu Gojira 4 Operēshon Jettojagā2023 short film produced for Godzilla Fest 2023. It features a duel between Godzilla and Jet Jaguar during an attack on Tokyo by the former.[1][2]
Plot[]
After defeating Hedorah and Gigan, Godzilla starts attacking parts of Japan as he has no enemies to fight. In response, the Japanese government develops a new weapon to defend them against Godzilla: an AI-controlled robot named Jet Jaguar, who activates and flashes his eyes to reveal the title card.
Jet Jaguar is deployed against Godzilla when the latter begins attacking Japan again. Upon encountering the former, Godzilla growls and fires his Atomic Breath. However, Jet Jaguar dodges the attacks and closes the distance between him and Godzilla with his speed and agility, while dodging more Atomic Breath attacks. Forced to engage in melee combat, Godzilla tackles Jet Jaguar after the latter knee-kicks him in the stomach, and pushes him back. Both Jet Jaguar and Godzilla trade blows until Godzilla kicks Jet Jaguar several feet away. Jet Jaguar recovers quickly and switches his fighting technique to use stronger attacks as the two resume their duel. Godzilla attempts to use his tail to whip Jet Jaguar, who dodges the attack and sends Godzilla into several buildings with a lethal dropkick attack. Jet Jaguar lands on his feet and strikes his battle pose while taunting Godzilla, who destroys a building roof to get up and roars in rage.
Godzilla and Jet Jaguar reengage their battle, trading blows and tackling each other. Godzilla attempts his tail whip attack again, but this time Jet Jaguar grabs it and throws Godzilla into a nearby building. Jet Jaguar attempts to finish Godzilla with a punch, but Godzilla dodges the attack, which causes Jet Jaguar’s fist to plunge into the building instead. Jet Jaguar retracts his arm while attempting to locate Godzilla, and turns around in shock as Godzilla prepares to fire his Atomic Breath behind him. Jet Jaguar runs away, but is hit by the Atomic Breath, which knocks him to the ground.
Godzilla kicks Jet Jaguar and grabs his head in an attempt to crush it. When he cannot do so, Godzilla instead throws Jet Jaguar into another building. Jet Jaguar struggles to get up and looks at Godzilla, who prepares to destroy Jet Jaguar with a point-blank Atomic Breath. However, before Godzilla can deliver the Coup de’ grace, an electric blast hits him and sends him flying. Jet Jaguar looks up in shock and sees King Ghidorah appear in a huge ball of flame with its three heads maniacally cackling (revealing the electric blast to be Ghidorah’s Gravity Beam attack).
King Ghidorah lands in the middle of the city, laying waste to it as he repeatedly fires his Gravity Beams to destroy the city. Jet Jaguar looks at King Ghidorah and turns his head to see Godzilla sprawled on the ground, unable to get up. Jet Jaguar gets to his feet and looks at Godzilla, who reaches out his hand for help. Just as Godzilla is about to give up, Jet Jaguar grabs his hand and pulls him up to his feet, deciding to work wth Godzilla to take down Ghidorah. Godzilla roars at Jet Jaguar in curiosity at his actions, and Jet Jaguar replies with a thumbs-up.
Both Jet Jaguar and Godzilla turn to face King Ghidorah, whose three heads cackle at the sight of his new opponents. The short film ends when Godzilla roars at King Ghidorah, with a “to be continued” text shown at the bottom left of the screen. Before the end credits play, the narrator reveals the title of the direct sequel: Fest Godzilla 5: All Monsters Showdown.
