Godzilla Fest 5: Battle of the Monsters (フェス・ゴジラ5 怪獣大決戦?) is a Fesu Gojira 5 Kaijū Daikessen2024 short film produced for Godzilla Fest 2024. The film is a sequel to the previous Godzilla Fest short, and features Godzilla and Jet Jaguar teaming up against King Ghidorah.[1][2]
Plot[]
Picking up where the previous short left off, Godzilla and Jet Jaguar now team up against the newly-arrived King Ghidorah. Making the first move, Godzilla shoots his atomic breath at Ghidorah, only for the latter to use an energized shield to deflect his signature attack before retaliating, prompting the JSDF to bring a pair of Gigan-like claws Jet Jaguar proceeds to try and use against the three-headed menace who still overpowers the robot.
Fortunately for Jet Jaguar, Godzilla blasts his atomic breath at King Ghidorah from behind, making the latter collapse to the ground, seemingly knocked out, although the dragon soon recovers and dispatches JJ before using literal gravity beams on the radioactive reptile, lifting him off the ground without much effort.
Just when things seemed hopeless, the three-headed monster stops using his beams, thus freeing his saurian rival as it is then revealed Jet Jaguar threw one of his claws and stabbed King Ghidorah straight to the abdomen before rushing towards the dragon, with Godzilla firing his signature attack at the robot's remaining claw, charging it with power and allowing Jet Jaguar to cut King Ghidorah's middle head.
Unfortunately, with their common enemy still standing strong, Jet Jaguar takes a glance at Godzilla, as if signaling the latter has to shoot them both. The King of Monsters then obliges, firing his atomic beam, which engulfes the space dragon in a formidable ball of fire.
With King Ghidorah out of the picture, Godzilla then turns to find a badly damaged Jet Jaguar who proceeds to give him one last thumbs up before finally deactivating for good. The giant reptile roars as a way to signal his pyrrhic victory before departing back to sea as the sun rises while the Japan Government mourns for Jet Jaguar.
