Godzilla Singular Point[2] is a Japanese animated television series, produced by Toho Company Ltd., Bones, and Orange. Singular Point is known to be canonically unrelated to the other Netflix-tied Godzilla anime trilogy (AniGoji). It made its debut on Netflix Japan on March 25th, 2021 and premiered on television on April 1st, 2021,[3][4] and made its worldwide premiere on Netflix on June 24, 2021.[5][1] Singular Point is directed by Atsushi Takahashi, written and edited by Toh Enjoe, and features character designs from Kazue Kato. The series is animated by Bones and Orange, and features a hybrid of computer generated and hand drawn animation. For its Japanese release, episodes were released every Thursday, starting on their respective premiere dates.[6][7]

Plot[]
Set in Nigashio City, Chiba Prefecture, in the year 2030. Engineer Yun Arikawa of Otaki Factory, a local "do-it-all" company, analyzes what's going on in a long-abandoned Western-style house. Mei Kamino, a graduate student who studies imaginary creatures, analyzes unusual signals coming from Misakioku, the former administration building of the Tsuguno district. These two individuals hear the same music while visiting entirely different locations as part of completely separate studies. As they come together, they are lead into an epic conflict involving the entire globe.

Singular Point was announced on October 6, 2020, with Godzilla's preliminary design being unveiled, alongside a logo, and a character sheet, detailing the presently unknown cast.
On October 26, 2020, a teaser trailer was unveiled for Singular Point. It showed off multiple monsters, some characters, and was overlaid with music.[11]
On March 9, 2021, the official trailer was unveiled for Singular Point on the Toho Animation YouTube channel. It showed Godzilla in motion with more scenes of the anime.[4] This video was re-released on Netflix Anime on April 12, 2021, and announced the international release at the end.[5]
