ROUND 1 IN A SERIES OF 6 ONE-SHOT THROWDOWNS![4][3]

Plot[]

At the Baxter Building, the Fantastic Four race towards the Fantasti-Car. Johnny Storm asks Reed Richards if what the radio said was true and Reed believes it was. He mentions how Godzilla attacked Tokyo and the team raced to lend a hand, only to arrive too late, believing that Dr. Daisuke Serizawa had killed the creature. However, that doesn't seem to be the case - Godzilla is alive, well and tearing up the Statue of Liberty. Johnny, Susan Storm and Ben Grimm leap from the Fantasti-Car to battle Godzilla, Ben delivering a cannonball while Sue uses her force fields to attack alongside Johnny and his flames. Reed finishes up by enlarging his fist and slamming it on Godzilla's head. It seems that they stopped him, but it barely phased him, quickly charging and blasting the team with its Atomic Breath, barely blocked by Sue's force fields.

Despite the need to recover and treat themselves of radiation, Godzilla has now entered New York and the team needs to stop Godzilla. Reed has a plan, though; he intends to lure Godzilla to the Baxter Building and deliver the entirety of New York State's electrical grid to take him out. However, the plan is suicidal and Reed knows he'll most likely die. The team refuses to let that happen and work together to make the modifications. The plan is set into motion and Godzilla heads for the Baxter Building, destroying it and toppling the beast once more.

As the weakened team climbs out of the rubble of their base, they notice the storm they were going through has stopped, but now the sky is aflame. They recognize it from Uatu the Watcher trying to hide Earth from the World Devourer Galactus. However, there's no way he could be back - the Silver Surfer was no longer his Herald, thus Galactus had no Herald. However, Reed realizes that he might have found a new Herald and indeed he had - King Ghidorah had arrived and the team is running on fumes. However, help arrives as the aforementioned Silver Surfer arrives. Using the Power Cosmic, he reveals that King Ghidorah relishes in death and destruction. Galactus sensed this and made King Ghidorah his new Herald so that he could destroy those who opposed him and he could consume the Earth.

However, King Ghidorah's power is too much for even the Silver Surfer. Inspired by the Fantastic Four's willingness to fight together to the end, the Surfer decides to give his power to the one being who can defeat the three-headed dragon: Godzilla. As the Surfer returns to regular Norran Radd, Godzilla reawakens as Cosmic Godzilla. However, even this power boost is not enough, leading to the Fantastic Four to join the battle. Johnny unleashes fire blasts while Reed slingshots Ben into Ghidorah. While this is working, New York is still getting torn up. This gives Sue an idea: her invisible powers effectively bend light, but instead of making someone invisible, she intends to create a giant sized hologram of someone, namely Ben. With Ghidorah distracted, Godzilla blends his Atomic Breath with the Power Cosmic to defeat Ghidorah, draining the Power Cosmic from him.

With Ghidorah free from Galactus' hold, the three-headed beast returned to space while Godzilla relinquished his hold of the Power Cosmic and returned to the Surfer. However, as New York rebuilds, Reed realizes something frightening: Galactus is sure to know that his Herald has failed and he'll come back to Earth one day, but when he does, he will face down Godzilla and humanity may not survive it...
