Plot[]
Godzilla is peacefully sleeping beneath the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, earthquake tremors have been ravaging the city, leading the people of the city to worry that there may be a big earthquake coming up. However, Hedorah then appears at a factory to feed on its pollution, before setting about destroying the city. Meanwhile, Gigan also awakens from his imprisonment underground, revealed to be the cause of all the tremors. Elsewhere, Rodan arrives to do battle with Hedorah, as he has done in the past. While he puts up a good fight, Rodan is vastly overpowered, until Godzilla arrives and comes to his rescue, destroying Hedorah's body with his atomic breath, and driving Hedorah away. Then, Godzilla battles Gigan at an amusement park, but is also seemingly outmatched, until Rodan creates a distraction long enough for Godzilla to seal Gigan underground once again. As Godzilla and Rodan depart, the people of Los Angeles begin to rebuild the city, with the final image of the book being a massive Godzilla footprint in the middle of the city.
