Template:Infobox Characters Gunpei Ikari was a Japanese soldier who fought in World War II, and was introduced in the 2017 MonsterVerse film, Kong: Skull Island.
Biography
Kong: Skull Island
Gunpei Ikari and Hank Marlow crash landed on Skull Island early on in the film. Upon encountering each other, they tried to kill one another, with the resulting fight nearly resulting in Marlow's death. The arrival of Kong frightened Ikari, and he ran off, however.
The two would encounter each other again on the island and ended up reconciling due to their circumstances, and came to see each other as brothers. Ikari would eventually perish from the attack of a Skullcrawler, saving Hank's life in the process. Marlow erected a grave for Ikari, and laid his sword there. Eventually, the time would come for when this sword would be used once more.
