The Japanese Xenomorph Self-Defense Force, or JXSDF, is a military branch of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force that was formed to protect Japan from attacks from Godzilla and other giant monsters and it was created with the express purpose of combating adversaries of an extreme and overpowering alien nature, such as kaiju. To this end, the JXSDF initiated the Mecha-G Project, which used the bones of the original Godzilla as the structural lattice behind the creation of their own robotic mecha named Kiryu, or MechaGodzilla. The JXSDF first appeared in Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla.

The Japanese Xenomorph Self-Defense Force (JXSDF) was formed sometime in the 1970s following the Tokyo destruction in 1961 by Mothra when Mothra's fairies were kidnapped by a Rolisican capitalist, hoping to exploit them as media celebrities.
