The Megapede first appears in the Midwest U.S., tearing the towns out there apart. After a battle that takes its' toll on Zilla, the Megapede goes underground. When H.E.A.T. finds it, it is metamorphosing into the Giant Cicada. It then attacks Chicago, where Zilla defeats it. Megapede and Cicada are a homage to Battra. Fans will sometimes refer to both of them as Megapede and it's two forms using Centipede and Cicada to tell the forms apart to avoid confsuion.
