Godzilla approaches Nagoya Castle in Mothra vs. Godzilla

As Godzilla rampaged across the countryside, he paused. A graceful, tall and white Castle stood between him and Nagoya. The city's Castle was only slightly shorter than Godzilla, but offered no resistance as Godzilla's heavy weight was used to his full advantage. He quickly charged at the building, but he tripped on the moat, falling on top of it and breaking the castle apart.

GvsM - Battra attacking the castle

Battra approaches Nagoya Castle in Godzilla vs. Mothra

Battra emerged from the ground next to Nagoya Castle, towering over it. Ignoring the castle altogether, he destoyed one of the turret buildings as terrified people ran from him. The attacks dealt on Battra by the opposing MBAW-93s and Type 90 Tanks did little damage to him as he moved on into the city of Nagoya itself.

  • The Nagoya Castle prop is responsible for giving the MosuGoji suit its characteristic 'wobbly-lip.' During filming, Haruo Nakajima fell onto the prop while still in the suit after tripping on some of the miniatures, and loosened several of the teeth, as well as crushing the castle underneath him as he fell. Eiji Tsuburaya liked the scene, and thus kept it in the finished product.
