The Marshall Islands, officially the Republic of the Marshall Islands is an island country and a United States associated state near the equator in the Pacific Ocean, slightly west of the International Date Line. Geographically, the country is part of the larger island group of Micronesia.

Godzilla[]
In 1954, the United States Navy headed to the waters surrounding the island country to kill Godzilla at Bikini Atoll with a hydrogen bomb under the guise of bomb testing. Some of the local natives of the country were able to catch a glimpse of Godzilla's dorsal fins on the ocean's surface. When Godzilla emerged, the bomb exploded, seemingly killing him. However he survived the attempt and disappeared afterwards.
