Saradia is a fictional desert country in the Middle East. It first appears in Godzilla vs. Biollante.

Name

Saradia's name is most likely a contraction of Saudi Arabia, a real country in the same region where Saradia is placed. It may also come from a combination of Sahara and Arid, with the former also being a desert.

History

Godzilla vs. Biollante

Genshiro Shiragami's lab is based in Saradia, and it is where he holds most of his experiments. After his daughter Erika is killed in a terrorist attack, at his lab, he relocates to Lake Ashi in Japan, where he begins work on splicing the DNA of Erika with a rosebushes. He also recruits Miki Saegusa as part of his team, and works on the Anti-Nuclear Energy Bacteria. After Mount Mihara erupts, several of the rosebushes are killed. Shiragami gets panicked that Erika's continued life is in danger, and adds Godzilla's DNA to the plant, hoping that it could make Erika live on forever in the form of a rose. Shiragami's gene-splicing experiments produce the giant monster Biollante. Ultimately, Shiragami is killed by SSS9 after witnessing Biollante's rise into space, and his lab becomes vacant after the defeat of Biollante by Godzilla.
