Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster[]
In the 1960s, the royal family of Selgina found itself under siege by a vicious political opposition. The king of Selgina was assassinated by the opposition in 1964, and his daughter, Princess Selina Salno, prepared to travel to Japan on a diplomatic mission. The opposition's leading assassin, Malness, who had successfully killed the king of Selgina, was tasked with murdering the princess as well. Malness planted a bomb on the princess' plane, which exploded over Japan while she was on board. However, a woman closely resembling the princess claiming to be from Venus appeared in Japan, prophesying about terrible cataclysms to befall the planet. The leader of the Selginian political opposition sent Malness and a team of assassins to Japan to ensure that the princess was truly dead, under the threat of being executed themselves. Malness tracked the prophetess to a hotel and was convinced she was the princess, but he was interrupted by the Shobijin before he could kill her. Malness was chased off by Detective Shindo, the brother of a reporter covering the prophetess, and he and his men began to formulate a new plan to kill the princess.
When the princess was brought to the laboratory of Dr. Tsukamoto near Mount Fuji for shock therapy treatments, Malness rigged the power so that she would be electrocuted to death. However, the nearby battle between Godzilla and Rodan deactivated the power, forcing Malness and his men to enter another gunfight with Shindo. Malness and his men tried to flee in a car, but were stopped by an avalanche, killing everyone except Malness. Malness followed the princess and Shindo and shot at them with a sniper rifle from a cliff. One of Malness' bullets grazed the princess' head, freeing her from her trance and restoring her memory. Before Malness could deliver a fatal shot, a stray gravity beam from King Ghidorah struck the mountainside above Malness, causing an avalanche that sent him falling to his death in the gorge below. After King Ghidorah was driven off by the combined forces of Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra, Princess Selina prepared to return to her homeland. She thanked Shindo for saving her life multiple times before finally returning to Selgina.
Trivia[]
- It is possible that Selgina may be based off the real Indian province of Sikkim, which is situated in the foothills of the Himalayas.
