The arrival of Godzilla in Japan led to a chain of events which ultimately resulted in the satellite firing upon Japan. In response, the Americans sent out a nuclear missile of their own. Time passed until the two rockets collided, destroying both the missiles and the Satellite itself. Although the nuclear missile threat was neutralised, radiation was released into the atmosphere, causing storms which revived the fallen Godzilla.
