To a lot of people. Godzilla, Mothra and Angruirus are known as best friends. Anguirus is Godzila's best friend while Mothra on the other hand is battling Godzilla in many Godzilla films. It's because of what happened in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster that Godzilla and Mothra are allies.
