Out of curiosity, are you still hanging around here?

    • Honestly, after the way Wikia's treated the fork, including blacklisting any of its URLs, I've lost a lot of respect for Wikia. I show up here occasionally, but I can't help but feel that me and the other staff have been treated horribly. We're having to struggle just to get heard, and I'm starting to think there's some sort of conspiracy against the fork.

    • Hmm, I see. Well, out of even more curiosity, I must ask about the conspiracy you bring up, if you'd be willing to speak to me about it of course.

    • Of course, I shall.

So basically, as I'm sure you are aware, Wikia's refusing to let any changes be made to this version of WZ's name - This means that there's now two sites bearing the same name, and this is a serious issue.

Wikia also blacklisted our URL for a short time, but removed the ban this week; I guess enough people spoke up about it.

If you want more info, feel free to drop into the fork's chat sometime, us admins will most likely be there to clear things up further.

    • IIRC, I don't think they're refusing it outright as much as they are wanting the next group of people who decide to admin the place to be the ones to pull the weight with a potential renaming. That's of course, as far as I understand it.

The URL thing really should be a non-issue, even with blacklisting. The only reason that'd be an issue is if you're advertising, which there is a rule against in the terms of use. Granted, IIRC (Again) they loosened up on that here to allow the past community to say they went to said site on their profile/message wall, but in general, it's understandable.

And I may drop by, sometime, but personal issues prevent me from wanting to doing so. Nothing against you, of course, nor am I/will I start something with that, but me going over there just doesn't bode well with me.

    • But even so, this has caused a major setback to the fork's success. We've been having to fight every step of the way to just gain some ground, and to us it almost seems like they have some sort of vendetta against us for leaving.

We're having enough trouble trying to get our external links on Wikipedia as it is, and the fact that Wikia's imposing sanctions on us is making it even harder just to carry out our basic duties.

I understand there is another reason I have been contacted?

    • I don't think they have a vendetta for you (community, to be specific) leaving at all. No one should. It's your choice to. I just think they have an issue with how it was done. You know? I shouldn't need to get into that of course. Not the place, but the point's there.

Anyhow, I was originally going to ask if you wanted to be one of the people chosen as candidates for Administration here. However, seeing as you're both an Admin over there and already have negative thoughts about how things work over here, I don't think it's exactly right to. It is your call entirely. I'm obviously fine with whichever way you swing.

    • I mean, I'd be willing to hold a place here, but only if changes are going to be made. Something has to be done about both websites having the same name, as this is causing a great deal of confusion.

    • Currently, and I'll be honest, as we are now (As a staff body), I don't see the rushing into a new site name (weirdly enough for the sake of the other that decided to branch from it) as a top priority.

Logically, and personally, it feels weird that we be asked to change in the first place, but that's another topic that can also be debated for another time.

    • I understand.
