  • if you could alter the continuity of any Godzilla film, which means you can change the universe it exists in and the films in his timeline, what will you do?

    example:

alter Godzilla: Final Wars so it'll be a sequel to Godzilla's Counterattack so the frozen Godzilla will be the second Showa Godzilla.

You can also alter the films themselves to fit into your new timeline.

    • I would alter the entire Millennium era, and this is how it's going to work:

      1. Godzilla 2000: Millennium happens first.
      2. Godzilla vs. Megaguirus happens after the events of Godzilla 2000: Millennium.
      3. The Kiryu Duology happens after the events of Godzilla vs. Megaguirus.
      4. Godzilla X Varan, Baragon and Manda: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack happens after the events of the Kiryu Duology.
      5. Godzilla vs. Gamera happens after the events of Godzilla X Varan, Baragon and Manda: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack.
      6. Godzilla: Final Wars happens after the events of Godzilla vs. Gamera.

In my interpretation of the Millennium era, there are actually two Godzillas, and this is how it would play out:

Original Godzilla from 1954 dies from the Oxygen Destroyer, but the skeleton does not disintegrate (Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla). A second Godzilla appears in 1966 and attacks Japan's first nuclear power plant in Tokai Village, then reappears in 1996 to attack an experimental new plasma plant in Osaka (Godzilla vs. Megaguirus), and then reappears again in 1999 to lay Tateyama to waste (Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla). In 2000, everything in Godzilla 2000: Millennium happens. In 2001, everything in Godzilla vs. Megaguirus happens, except that Godzilla, in the end of the movie, comes out of the ground earlier right in front of everyone at G-Grasper, leaving them devastated, and it ends with Godzilla returning to the sea after finally getting what he wanted from that hidden plasma power plant he's been destroying... plasma energy. In 2002, everything in Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla happens. In 2003, everything in Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. happens. In 2004, Kiryu carried the weakened Godzilla at the bottom of the sea, somewhere near the Antarctica, and allowed him to heal from his battle. Kiryu then proceeded to return to the area where the original Godzilla's skeleton was salvaged, as that was its resting place, it almost made it back until it got possessed by the forgotten spirits of the Pacific War who want revenge on Japan for forgetting the past, this caused Kiryu to expel all of its robotic parts until it's nothing but the skeleton of the original Godzilla, once that happens, the ectoplasmic energy created from the spirits possessing the original Godzilla skeleton caused it to create new nervous systems, new muscles, new organs and a new brain, the original Godzilla was reborn that day and everything in Godzilla X Varan, Baragon and Manda: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack happens. In mid-February of 2005, the second Godzilla has fully healed from his battles with Kiryu and is located in the Antarctica where he gets buried and frozen by the Gotengo, built from Kiryu's robotic parts (Godzilla: Final Wars), with the reborn original Godzilla returning after fully regenerating to attack Japan again in the summer of that year where everything in Godzilla vs. Gamera happens. And lastly in 2007, everything in Godzilla: Final Wars happens.

    • Here's my alternative timeline:

      • Godzilla (1954): happened unaltered, but with Godzilla being turned into a skeleton.
      • Godzilla Raids Again (1955) happened but being pushed back into 1956 new scenes showing the second Godzilla. being born and an anceint battle between an unirritated Godzilla and Anguirus, with Rodan making a cameo.
      • King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) happened unaltered, but with Godzilla winning.
      • Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964): happened unaltered.
      • Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964): happened unaltered.
      • Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965): happened unaltered.
      • Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966): happened with Kong in the place of Godzilla.
      • Son of Godzilla (1967): happened with King Ghidorah as the antagonist instead of Kumonga and Kamacuras.
      • Destroy All Monsters (1968): Not being made in 1968 but rather in 1977, with new suits for Varan, Baragon and Maguma, and with all monsters battling King Ghidorah.
      • All Monsters Attack (1969): Removing the dream concept along with Ichiro, and telling a different story were Godzilla and his current allies are befriending both Anguirus and Gorosaurus, after the latter saurians recovered from their wounds, and then the six monsters had to battle Gabara.
      • Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971): happened unaltered.
      • Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972): being made in 1973 but with Rodan and Mogu being added to each team.
      • Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973): Not being made, bt having Jet replace Zone Fighter and lead his own series instead, with Megalon being a reccuring enemy.
      • Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla (1974): Happened with Fake Godzilla defeating both Rodan and Anguirus and then have Anguirus return for the
      • Terror of MechaGodzilla (1975): happened with Godzilla, Anguirus and Titanosaurus teaming up against King Ghidorah.
      • The Return of Godzilla (1984): happened.
      • Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989): happened unaltered.
      • Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991): happened but does not include the confusing time travel story and instead having Ghidorah as a space monster who invaded earth, which let humanity rely on Godzilla to defeat it but without MKG.
      • Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992): happened with Godzilla, Mothra and Battra teaming up against MKG.
      • Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla 2 (1993): Happened with Anguirus being in Rodan's place, and having MKG's programming take control of MG and suddently make him go Berserk and become the main villain.
      • Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994): happened with MG in the place of M.O.G.U.E.R.A, as well as keeping the giant dragonflies.
      • Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995): Happened but having Godzilla Junior become an adult earlier in the film and have him defeat destoroyah along with the millitary and Anguirus.
      • GODZILLA (1998): Have the film being made in 1996 with the story neing completely revereted into the original 1994 draft, with the Gryphon being redesigned to look more dragon-like, and have the film spawn 2 sequels featuring Toho's other classic monsters.
      • Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999): Push it back to 2005, change the design of Godzilla into a more 1954-toned but still updated and reveret the atomic ray back to blue.
      • Godzilla vs. Megaguirus (2000): happens after the previous film and have it with Godzilla coming out of the ground earlier right in front of everyone at G-Grasper, leaving them devastated, and it ends with Godzilla returning to the sea after finally getting what he wanted from that hidden plasma power plant he's been destroying... plasma energy.
      • Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001): have it take place after Tokyo S.O.S, With the original cast of guardian monsters, and at the end have the Gotengo destroy the GMK Goji,
      • Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla (2002): Have it happen after Godzilla vs Megaguirus.
      • Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. (2003): have it happen unaltered but in the end show how Kiryu left the weakened Godzilla and turned into Ghost Godzilla.
      • Godzilla: Final Wars (2004): have it happen after GXVBA and change the cast of the monsters into Godzilla, Rodan, Anguirus, Mothra, Manda, Baragon, Varan, Megaguirus, Megalon, Gigan, Kiryu, Godzilla Junior, Zilla, Gorosaurus, Titanosaurus and King Ghidorah/Keizer Ghidorah ( i already noted their roles here).

    • Wait, forgot my old idea. Here's my new idea:

I want to alter the entire Godzilla franchise instead, so it looks like this:

      Showa Era:

      (Godzilla 1954 happens unaltered)

(Godzilla Raids Again happens unaltered, but new scenes showing how the second Showa Godzilla was born.)

(King Kong vs. Godzilla happens unaltered)

      (Mothra vs. Godzilla happens unaltered)

(Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster happens unaltered)

      (Invasion of Astro-Monster happens unaltered)

(Ebirah, Horror of the Deep happens unaltered)

      (Son of Godzilla happens unaltered)

(Destroy All Monsters takes place after the events of Son of Godzilla, instead of 1999.)

(All Monsters Attack happens unaltered, but does not takes place in the Godzilla universe.)

(Godzilla vs. Hedorah happens unaltered, but it takes place 3 years after the events of Destroy All Monsters.)

(Godzilla vs. Gigan features a new King Ghidorah, instead of the same Ghidorah from 1964.)

      (Godzilla vs. Megalon happens unaltered)

      (Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla happens unaltered)

(Terror of MechaGodzilla happens unaltered, but Godzilla dies at the end.)

      Heisei Era: (Unaltered)

Millennium Era: (Features Godzilla Junior as Adult Godzilla)

(Godzilla vs. Megaguirus happens in 1999)

(Godzilla 2000: Millennium happens in 2000, but it takes place after the events of Godzilla vs. Megaguirus.)

(Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla happens in 2001, but it takes place after the events of Godzilla 2000: Millennium.)

(Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. happens in 2002, does not include Mothra, and takes place after Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla.)

(Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack happens in 2003, but it takes place after the events of Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.)

(Godzilla: Final Wars happens at 2004, but it takes place after the events of Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S.)

    • My idea I that Godzilla 1954 and the born of zilla starts at the same time..but zilla lies dormant until 1998 Godzilla raids again is unaltered..the only thing that changes is that anguiurus fight baragon and Godzilla fight varan before they fight each other Godzilla vs mechagodzilla, but instead repairing the original mg..they build a second and a third..more powerful and taller(Heisei mg)after the defeat..they release the Heisei one..but he lies dormant cause of an error Terror of mwchagodzilla happens..but titanossaurus control fail and he destroys mg..later killed by Godzilla Godzilla vs king king happen..but Godzilla porsue and kill king Godzilla vs hedorah happen..but Godzilla dies and the skeleton remains..godzilla 1954 don't get killed by the oxygen destroyer..just was heavily injuries and mutates on Godzilla 2000 and continue dormant Heisei Godzilla appears and the movies go the same thing..the difference is that Godzilla overpower all the shows monster and kills them, except from minya(a second minus lies dormant)

    • I say there are many godzillas all films are one timeline, possible.

      Showa happens

      1984 is showa

      heisei happens, RoM happens

      DAM happens

Goji jr grown up is froze by gotengo

minya grows up, 2000 happens, GvM happens, GMK happens (another godzilla), kiryu happens, godzilla is freed, 2014 happens. 2018 is the other monsters returning.

    • The Raptor Timeline

      I created my own timeline.

        Loading editor
    • Showa Continuity:

      Godzilla (1954)

Serizawa's sacrifice is in vain as Godzilla does not die, but is instead horribly weakened and maimed

      Godzilla Raids Again (1956)

      A) Would be given more production time (you may or not be aware that this movie was scripted, shot, and released in less than a year)

The same Godzilla from the first film, with hideous scarring a la ShinGoji, makes a destructive trek across Japan to tangle with Anguirus, who Godzilla defeats and kills.

      Son of Godzilla (1957)

A similar film to the 1967 classic (I love that movie) but with a more serious tone and rdirect peril to the human cast from even smaller Kamacuras, and an even bigger Kumonga, introduces us to  a more human Godzilla and a world potentially full of monsters

      Godzilla vs Gigantis (1958)

Godzilla fights a clone of himself, the origins of which are left unclear, and defeats him with the help of Minya.

      Godzilla and Rodan (1960)

Godzilla and son team up with Rodan to bring down the ultimate foe: Ghidorah! Minya is killed by Ghidorah in the film's climax.

Godzilla: Invasion of the Astro-Monster (1961)

This entry introduces us to the alien origins of Ghidorah and reveals that Gigantis was created by the Xiliens. Godzilla and Rodan once again fight together to bring down Space Ghidorah (a purpleish Ghidorah that breathes fire)

      Mothra vs Godzilla (1962)

Godzilla is back on Earth and Rodan is nowhere to be seen.

This film plays out similar to the original Mothra vs Godzilla

      King Kong vs Godzilla (1964)

Better Kong suit. Stronger story. Godzilla is definitively killed at the end.

      Terror of Mechagodzilla (1970)

The Xiliens return to wreak havoc on Earth with a new weapon: MG1, aka Mechagodzilla. Mechagodzilla defeats Gezora and a man-made mechanical weapon, MOGUERA, with ease, before a new Godzilla appears to save humanity.

Godzilla vs the Smog Monster (1972)

A better version of Smog Monster, featuring Hedorah with all the same abilities and less of the misguided weirdness.

      Godzilla and Jet Jaguar (1973)

The fan-created character gets a mention in the film's title and teams up with Big G to take down Megalon

      Mechagodzilla's Counterattack (1975)

The last film of the Showa series sees Godzilla mind-controlled by the Xiliens and fighting with an upgraded Mechagodzilla to destroy the world. Rodan, King Kong, Mothra, and Jet Jaguar team up to defeat the mechanical menace and force Godzilla into the ocean, where a new Oxygen Destroyer finally kills him.

      Heisei Continuity

      Return of Godzilla (1985)

Not a direct sequel to G54. This is the first appearance of Godzilla. Other than that, this goes down pretty much the same as G84, but the Gotengo stands in for the Super X. At the end, Godzilla is frozen on Monster Island rather than lured into a volcano.

      Godzilla's Revenge (1987)

Big G has escaped his confinement. Shockirus have overrun Japan. There seems to be no hope. Mothra, Varan, and Anguirus appear in Hawaii, Turkey, and Australia, respectively, and take the fight to Godzilla. The much smaller Rhedosaurus appears, which feeds on Shockirus. Godzilla is overwhelemed and seemingly kiled by his monster foes.

      Toho's THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS (1988)

A remake of the classic Harryhausen film tells the new origin for Rhedosaurus. Rhedosaurus appears in 1986 near the US Navy base in Norfolk, Virginia and wreaks havoc on the East Coast, killing millions in New York City before disappearing entirely.

      Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1990)

A new, smaller Godzilla returns to Japan, and the JSDF tries to repel it with its newest superweapons, and upgraded Gotengo called Atragon, and the technological marvel, Mechagodzilla. Rodan is also present, but does not affect the plot in any meaningful way.

      Godzilla: Resurgence (1991)

The orginal Godzilla (as in the one from 1985-187) makes a triumphant return, fighting his destructive counterpart,

      Godzilla vs Battra (1992)

This movie sees Godzilla take on a malevolent god that takes on the form of a moth-like creature who wishes to destroy humanity and cleanse the Earth. Battra heralds the arrival of the Destroyer.

      Godzilla vs the Destroyer (1994)

In the last film of the Heisei continuity, Godzilla unites with mankind in order to destroy  an infinitely powerful demonic monster known as the Destroyer. The Destroyer is stopped but Godzilla is killed in the final battle.

      Millenium Continuity

      Godzilla vs Nessie (2004)

In a direct sequel to Godzilla Raids Again, Godzilla makes a return for his 50th anniversary to battle the Loch Ness Monster

      Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla (2006)

Set in 2050, a nuclear test on the Martian surface creates a horrifying mutant, SpaceGodzilla, who used power within its shoulder crystals to fly to Earth and wreak havoc. An aging Godzilla must use every ounce of his remaining strength to defeat his otherworldly counterpart.

      Ghidorah: The Three-Headed Monster (2007)

Back in the modern day, Godzilla fights a revamped Ghidorah, who is capable of sapping a creature's life-force through its fangs, similar to Keizer Ghidorah.

      Destroy All Monsters (2009)

The Xiliens are back, and Godzilla teams up with Rodan, Mothra, Rhedosaurus, Varan, Anguirus, and King Kong to stop them and their monstrous creations: Hedorah, Ebirah, Gigantis, and Gigan.

      Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla- Happens unaltered.

Godzilla: Tokyo SOS- Happens, just that Mothra takes Godzilla side, while Titanosaurus takes Kiryu's side. Also, Godzilla and Mothra free Titanosaurus from his mind control and the three monsters defeat Kiryu.

Godzilla: Final Wars- Happens, just with Gorosaurus instead of Zilla, Godzilla never kills any monsters, and at the end, all of them come to fight Keizer Ghidorah.

    • I'm actually working on my own Godzilla/Kaiju universe timeline for a project I'm doing. Ignoring all the prehistory stuff and my Gamera, Ultraman, King Kong, Cloverfield, and Michellanous/other Kaiju films timelines, here it is:

1954- The original Gojira film happens unaltered, and all the stuff with Raymond Burr also takes place, but with him never coming into contact with the main characters of the original film

1955-Raids again takes place, however with the film clearly stating that it's a second Godzilla and that Anguirus was not killed.

1956-Rodan happens, but this time both Rodans live. One (the male) is awakened in 1964, and the other (the female) remains dormant in the volcano, feeding off its energy. Steve Martin comes back to  the U.S and tells them about what happened with Godzilla in 1954.

1957- The Mysterians happens unaltered. However, in the grand scheme of things the alien technology was  reverse-engineered by the the humans, thus explaining the advanced technology in later films. Obviously, technology from alien invasions after this is also reverse-engineered.

1958- Varan the unbelievable happens, but Varan was not actually killed.

1961- The original Mothra film happens.

1962-Gorath Happens, but Maguma is not killed (if he ever was in the original film, I haven't seen it).

1962(again)-King Kong vs Godzilla happens unaltered, but with new scenes showing Kong and Godzilla battling underwater after falling off the cliff before both are given amnesia after a few knocks to the head by a landslide they had caused during their battle. Both monsters then swim away as though nothing had happened.

1963- Atragon happens, but with an extra scene at the end ensuring that Manda survived.

      1963 (again)- Matango happens.

1964- Mothra vs Godzilla happens unaltered however with one of the Mothra larvae being a reincarnation of the original Mothra, and the other being Mothra's actual child. Also, the reason Godzilla was underground was because he was washed ashore by the Tsunami from the beginning of the movie. And since Tsunamis are created by earthquakes, the earthquake that caused the Tsunami buried Godzilla underground.

1964 (again)- Ghidorah: the three headed monster happens, but with the inclusion of the second Mothra larva. Said larva is later killed By King Ghidorah.

      1964 (again, again)- Dogora happens.

1965- Invasion of the Astro Monster happens.

1965 (again)- Frankenstein vs Baragon happens, but both monsters survive.

1966- Godzilla vs the Sea monster happens, but with Godzilla being sleeping  found underwater instead of in a cave. As such, the lightning/sword scene is cut out and Godzilla awakens under his own power.

1966 (again)- War of the Gargantuas happens, but both Gargantuas survive.

1967- Son of Godzilla happens, but with less of Godzilla inadvertently abusing his son.

1968-Destroy all monsters happens, but with Mothra in Imago form and most of the other monsters having a larger role.  Also, Monsterland is called "Monster Island" for the sake of consistency.

1969- Godzilla's Revenge happens, but with Gabara being a nightmare creature that haunts the dreams of both Ichiro and MInya simultaneously.  Later on in the film, Godzilla is pulled into the dream dimension and aids Minya and Ichiro in defeating Gabara. All the other monsters in the film (including Godzilla in some scenes) are dream versions created by Gabara.

1970-Space Amoeba happens, but the monsters survive.

1971-Godzilla vs Hedorah happens, but with an extra scene added at the end of Hedorah slowly reforming.  Also, the White things are never destroyed, and are revealed to be eggs. One of them hatches into this universe's version of Deathla later on.  All the trippyness in the movie is the result of the drug-like effects of the fumes that come off of Hedorah's body. With the exception of Godzilla flying, that actually happened. It is fully possible that Hedorah's fumes were affecting Godzilla as well, explaining how the heck he came up with the idea.

1972-Godzilla vs Gigan happens unaltered, but with the Space Hunter Nebula N being Human sized space cockroaches.

1973-Godzilla vs Megalon happens, but with Jet Jaguar remaining sentient at the end and choosing to remain living with his "family".

1973 - The events of the Zone Fighter series take place, but Gigan is not killed.

      1974-Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla happens unaltered.

1975-Terror of Mechagodzilla happens, but with Dr. Mafune betraying the aliens after the death of his daughter, and showing Titanosaurus swimming away after his defeat at the hands of Godzilla. Also, the aliens refer to the Mechagodzilla in this movie as "Mechagodzilla 2"  to avoid the name thing that would happen later on in the fandom.

1984-Godzilla returns, having lost memory after the battle with Mechagodzilla 2. As such, he doesn't remember any of his old allies or that he had learned to tolerate humanity. Luckily, his allies have been living in peace on Monster Island during their absences from films. Unfortunately, Godzilla doesn't remember Monster Island either. Aside from this information, the film happens unaltered.

      1989-Godzilla vs Biollante happens.

1991-Godzilla vs King Ghidorah happens, with the movie clearly stating that the Futurians did not actually alter the timeline, and may have actually created the second Godzilla that appeared in 1955. And, the King Ghidorah in this film is separate from the original and is actually a clone made by the Futurians, as the Dorats were derived from the original's DNA.

1992-Godzilla vs Mothra: Battle for earth happens, but with an extra scene showing that the Mothra from the Showa series was defeated by another monster during Godzilla's disappearance and that she had reincarnated through the egg in the film.

1993-Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1993) happens, but with Rodan becoming Fire Rodan via a nuclear power plant rather than Godzilla's radiation. He later gives this radiation to Godzilla, granting him the red spiral beam, and thus survives the events of the film. Upon seeing Baby Godzilla, Godzilla regains some of his memories, thus explaining how Godzilla became less aggressive from this point on.

1994-Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla happens, but SpaceGodzilla's origin is changed so that instead of whatever they were talking about with that black hole crap, the G-cells were mutated by a Meteorite in space made of the same material as SpaceGodzilla's crystals. Also, his name is derived from a joke by one of the Human characters where they say "Why don't we just call it, I don't know, SpaceGodzilla?" The Military then proceeds to make that his official codename, because they don't get sarcasm.

1995-Godzilla vs Destroyah happens, but it is revealed that Godzilla Jr survived, and the "adult Jr" is simply an unexplained phenomenon.

1996-The events of Rebirth of Mothra take place, but Mothra is never killed, and Mothra Leo never becomes an adult (I'm saving that for later)

1997-Rebirth of Mothra 2 happens, but Mothra gains her new forms via merging with Fairy Mothra (to give her something to do in these movies) instead of Chogo.

1998-Rebirth of Mothra 3 happens, but instead of turning into Eternal Mothra, Mothra reverts back to her normal form. Also, Moll (Or Lora, I don't remember which) is not killed. The movie also explains the King Ghidorah has become more powerful, hence Grand King Ghidorah.

1998 (again)-Godzilla (1998) happens, but it is revealed at the end that the creature survived. Godzilla: The Series also happens, but without Cyber Zilla. Perhaps he can be  replaced with a MechaZilla.

1999-Godzilla returns, having fully regenerated from his meltdown and  having more energy than before (Hence G2k's powered up atomic breath and the purple spines). The film then proceeds as normal.

2000-Godzilla vs Megaguirus happens, but the humans are aware of what Meganula are because of the events of the Rodan movie. Also, The "Godzilla attack in 1966" is replaced by  the events of Godzilla 2000. Godzilla also loses the extra energy from after he is hit by the Dimension Tide at the end of the film, reverting him back to his normal coloration and powers.

2001-The real Godzilla disappeared for unknown reasons.  the GMK Godzilla is instead the souls of the WW2 soldiers taking the form of Godzilla, rather than the original revived. The Guardian monsters actually have no physical forms and must take the form of or inhabit the bodies of existing Monsters. The First Guardian possess Baragon, the second possess the dead second Mothra larva, and the third posses a dormant Ghidorah from ancient times. However, this Ghidorah is not King Ghidorah, but rather his son. The film happens unaltered after these changes. Aside from the ending, in which the Guardian Monsters revive the monsters they had used as their physical form. Baragon returns to Monster island, The Second Mothra returns to the afterlife, and Ghidorah goes back into space.

2002- Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla Happens unaltered but the flashback to 1999 shows Akane's squad getting killed by Godzilla when he had the G2k powers. After encountering Kiryu,Godzilla regains all of his memories (Save for the battle with King Kong) and is instead now attacking cities so he can draw out his ancestor and put his soul to rest. Godzilla is also still quite angry at humanity for all the crap he had to go through.

2003-Tokyo SOS happens, but with the whole Mothra reincarnation thing I've introduced.  Also, Kamoebas is not killed.

2004-Godzilla: Final Wars happens, however Manda is not killed. Also, Mothra and Ebirah survive, Hedorah is forced to reform again and Godzilla's allies (Anguirus, Rodan, and King Caesar) return to Monster island to live in peace.  The film also clearly states that Keizer Ghidorah is not King Ghidorah and that Monster X is not Seabozu from Ultraman (that last one is  joke). The second Mothra Larva from Tokyo SOS is killed offscreen by the Xilians. Gigan in the film is instead a  new version created by the Xilians, and not the original.

2005-Super Star Fleet Sazer-X the Movie: Fight! Star Warriors happens. Because the the monsters and robots in it look cool and a version of Power Rangers (or Super Sentai, if you prefer) made by Toho sounds awesome. Plus, the Gotengo was in it according to wikizilla.  The other movies in the trilogy are also cannon.

      Events in-between 2004 and 2014:

-Jet Jaguar and Goro's son join the GDF.

-The GDF salvages Kiryu. They also rebuild  M.O.G.E.R.A.

-The events of Godzilla island take place, more or less. but the Monsters never leave the island, it is referred to as Monster Island, and the various allies of Godzilla's that didn't appear in the series make an appearance. Medical Jet Jaguar and Fighter Jet Jaguar are replicas of the original made by the GDF. The aliens in the series are not the Xilians, but rather a different alien species (take your pick, it could be the aliens from Zone Fighter, any of the aliens from the Showa Gamera films, the aliens from War of the monsters, who cares).  Spacegodzilla is also never killed (having regenerated his entire body in between the events of GvsSG and this), and instead breaks free from the alien's control and retreats. Super Special Long name is a clone of Spacegodzilla in this series. Battra is also freed from the aliens control and joins the heroes, albeit briefly, having reincarnated similar to Mothra by changing back to his Larval form seconds before death, thus healing all of his wounds . The "Monster vending machine" is removed entirely and Hyper Mecha King Ghidorah is created by the aliens. The "Normal" Mecha King Ghidorah is also removed the series, as is the plotline involving Fake Godzilla. Tormea's home planet is instead destroyed by the aliens rather than the "Jirogas" or whatever they were called. Destroyah is replaced with Ganimes.

2014-Godzilla is sighted once more, along with new Kaiju dubbed "M.U.T.O.S" (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms). Is is unknown if this is the same Godzilla or a similar creature. The Events of Godzilla (2014) take place, but none of the human characters get a good look at Godzilla, adding to the mystery if he's truly returned. Some of the M.U.T.O eggs also survive.

2015-The events of IDW's Godzilla: Rulers of Earth take place. However, the second Mothra larva that hatches out of the egg this time is a new character "Mothra Jr"  Zilla in this version is Zilla Jr, who has not seen his human allies for some time, thus explaining his actions. Mecha King Ghidorah is replaced with normal King Ghidorah (weakened after his battle with Mothra, thus not being in "Grand" form) to keep the continuity straight. Ebirah, and Manda, also participate in the final battle, because why not. Kiryu and M.O.G.E.R.A are never destroyed. Destroyah, Biollante, and Orga have all regenerated.

2016-There are sightings of Godzilla, Gamera, Ultraman, Zaragas, Cloverfield, and King Kong. The GDF finally gets around to repairing the rest of their mechas and weapons. Namely, Mechagodzilla, the Garuda, and the Gotengo.  They also salvage and repair Mecha King Ghidorah. Bringing the cyborg back to life.

2017- The events of the Project I'm working on will take place

So that is my complete Godzilla Timeline. I did not include Godzilla: Resurgence/Shin Godzilla because the origin of the Godzilla in that movie contradicts the rest of the timeline. I may find some use for the design of his final form however. If anyone wants to see my timeline for the other Kaiju/Tokusastu franchises in this project I will gladly put them in this thread.

No offence, but I don't think you understand that King Ghidorah and Orochi are two different things.

      Here is a new idea:

Gojira- Godzilla awakens for the first time. However, he is eventually driven away and seemingly killed.

Return of Godzilla- Godzilla resurfaces and attacks Tokyo again, but falls into a volcano.

GMK- Godzilla's power has been boosted by the volcano, and he crawls out, battling Baragon, Mothra, and Orochi, but is subdued and eventually retreats.

Godzilla vs. Megaguirus- Godzilla resurfaces again, and this time battles Megaguirus. After defeating her, he is sucked into a dimension tide portal.

Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah- An evil Orochi called King Ghidorah attacks Tokyo, and, for their protection, the people pull Godzilla out of the dimension he was trapped in, and, with help from Mecha King Ghidorah, he forces King Ghidorah to retreat into space, and leaves.

Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2- The G-Force makes a Mechagodzilla who attacks, but is eventually deafeated. Godzilla Junior also comes.

Godzilla vs. Mothra - Mothra and Battra return to battle godzilla, however, Battra is killed, and Mothra is forced to retreat.

Mothra vs. Godzilla- Mothra, bent on vengeance for her brother's death, attacks Godzilla, but is killed. However, her larvae web him up.

Godzilla vs. Biollante- Godzilla washes up on the shore, and fights a creature called Deutalios. Then he fights his lab accident clone Biollante, defeating her, but he is poisoned and returns to the ocean.

King Kong vs. Godzilla- Godzilla returns to battle King Kong. However, the two monsters tackle each other into the sea and the army sends missiles flying, and both dissapear.

Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster- King Ghidorah returns from space to exact his revenge. However, a Mothra Larva fights him, but is outmatched. When Godzilla resurfaces, she enlsists him and Rodan to battle King Ghidorah, and they force him into retreat.

Invasion of Astro-Monster- Godzilla and Rodan battle King Ghidorah in space, but all three monsters are captured by the Xiliens, however, and they eventually attack the earth, but break free. The Xiliens, seeing they are no onger in control, trap the three monsters underground.

Ebirah, Horror of the Deep- Godzilla is found in a cave to battle Ebirah. He eventually defeats Ebirah and returns to his island.

Godzilla vs. Hedorah- A new monster, called Hedorah, attacks Tokyo, and Godzilla comes after, him, but is poisoned. However, Godzilla comes back, and defeats Hedorah.

Godzilla vs. Gigan- King Ghidorah returns under the control of a monster called Gigan, who, in turn, is controlled by the Nebulans. Godzilla and Anguirus eventually defeat both creatures, also when both evil monsters escape.

Godzilla vs. Megalon- Gigan returns under the control of the Seatopians with their god, Megalon. Godzilla and Jet Jaguar eventually defeat them. Megalon digs away, and Gigan is found by the Xiliens and is rebuilt as a mindless cyborg.

Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla- A creature called Spacegodzilla attacks earth, but Godzilla and Moguera eventually drive it away.

Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla- Out of the parts from the old Mechagodzilla, a general named Mugal makes a new Mechagodzilla, and uses it to declare war on Okinawa by attacking it's guardian, King Caesar. However, Godzilla arrives and helps King Caesar battle Mechagodzilla.

Terror of Mechagodzilla- Mugal, who has been revealed to be an alien, enlists Dr. Mafune and Titanosaurus to aid Mechagodzilla. Titanosaurus and Mechagodzilla are bale to defeat Godzilla, but Godzilla digs underground, and resurfaces to defeat the two, and that he does.

Godzilla vs. Destoroyah- Godzilla is facing his meltdown, and Destoroyah also appears. Godzilla and Godzilla Junior eventually defeat Destoroyah, and when Godzilla melts down, Godzilla Junior turns into the new Godzilla.

Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla- Out of the bones of the old Godzilla, the people make Kiryu. During a battle with the Godzilla Junior turned Godzilla, he goes insane, and Godzilla leaves the scene. However, Godzilla returns, and Kiryu is eventually able to force him into retreat.

Godzilla: Tokyo SOS-  Godzilla returns and fights Mothra and Kiryu. Howver, KIryu then takes Godzilla's side and both fight Mothra, driving her away, but Kiryu is downed by the army.

Son of Godzilla- Godzilla gets his own son, Minilla, and he needs to protect his on from Kamacuras and Kumonga.

Godzilla Raids Again- Godzilla goes insane because of his father's death and ravages Anguirus. However, Minilla nad Rodan trap him in ice.

Godzilla: Final Wars- Godzilla escapes from his icy prison and finds out that the Xiliens have attacked the earth and taken control of ALL monsters. During a battle with Gigan, King Ghidorah intervenes, but is killed.

All Monsters Attack- A monster called Bagan attacks Monster Island. Meanwhile, Minilla has problems of his own.

Godzilla 2000: Millennium- Orga attacks the city, and Godzilla eventaully comes and thwarts him.

Destroy All Monsters- All monsters live peacefully until the Kilaaks attack. They fight the Kilaaks, but then are faced by Monster X....

I know, i was just trying to give KG a definitive origign, while i replaced him with Orochi in GMK so it could fit in, snince he's a villain.

I'm actually working on my own Godzilla/Kaiju universe timeline for a project I'm doing. Ignoring all the prehistory stuff and my Gamera, Ultraman, King Kong, Cloverfield, and Michellanous/other Kaiju films timelines, here it is:

1954- The original Gojira film happens unaltered, and all the stuff with Raymond Burr also takes place, but with him never coming into contact with the main characters of the original film. Also, I would add the obvious skeleton instead of disinegration thing.

1973- The events of the Zone Fighter series take place, but Gigan is not killed.

Luckily, is allies have been living in peace on Monster Island during their absences from films.

Baragon returns to Monster island, The Second Mothra returns to afterlife, and Ghidorah goes back into hibernation.

2002-Happens unaltered but the flashback to 1999 shows Akane's squad getting killed by Godzilla when he had the G2k powers. After encountering Kiryu,Godzilla regains all of his memories (Save for the battle with King Kong) and is instead now attacking cities so he can draw out his ancestor and put his soul to rest.

Plus, the Gotengo was in it according to this wiki.

Battra is also freed from the aliens control and joins the heroes, albeit briefly.

2017- The events of the Project I'm working on will take place.

So that is my complete Godzilla Timeline. I did not include Godzilla: Resurgence/Shin Godzilla because the origin of the Godzilla in that movie contradicts the rest of the timeline. I may find some use for the design of his final form however. If anyone wnats to see my timeline for the other Kaiju/Tokusastu franchises in this project I will gladly put them in this thread.

Yep, it's quite great (Finally somone who wants to keep the Dorats!). While i still like the idea of rearranging them, you have done a great job in tying them together.

After encountering Kiryu,Godzilla regains all of his memories (Save for the battle with King Kong) and is instead now attacking cities so he can draw out his ancestor and put his soul to rest.

Plus, the Gotengo was in it according to this wiki.

Battra is also freed from the aliens control and joins the heroes, albeit briefly.

Thank you! I worked quite hard on this one. Having to make sure everything fits together without changing things too much. As I said in my original post, I can post the other timelines if you'd like.

1973- The events of the Zone Fighter series take place, but Gigan is not killed.

Luckily, is allies have been living in peace on Monster Island during their absences from films.

Baragon returns to Monster island, The Second Mothra returns to afterlife, and Ghidorah goes back into hibernation.

2002-Happens unaltered but the flashback to 1999 shows Akane's squad getting killed by Godzilla when he had the G2k powers. We don't really care. Not enough of the wikizilla community has transfered over to the new site to call this one "dead" and while the new site is good for finding information, most of the socialization still happens on this wiki.

Plus, the Gotengo was in it according to this wiki.

Battra is also freed from the aliens control and joins the heroes, albeit briefly.

Thank you! I worked quite hard on this one. Having to make sure everything fits together without changing things too much. As I said in my original post, I can post the other timelines if you'd like.
      Sure, i'd like it!

Great! I'm working on the Gamera timeline now and I'll upload it as soon as possible.

    • Here's my Gamera/Daiei/Kadokawa timeline:

1962-The event of Kujira Gami take place, but the monster was not killed.

1965-The first sighting of Gamera. The original Gamera film however, is wiped from existence, as it contradicts the rest of the timeline. Gamera was presumably battling the Gyaos at this time.

1967-First sightings of the Gyaos species

1970-Gamer battles Jiger, however the exact events of the film do not take place. Very few people witness this, and most them are deemed crazy by the masses (until 1995)

1995-Gamera’s first full fledged appearance, the events of Gamera:Guardian of the universe take place unaltered. This happens after Godzilla vs Destroyah.

1996-Gamera 2: attack of Legion happens unaltered.

1998-Gamera fends off the invasions of Zigra, the Virasians, and the Terrans. However, the exact events of these films do not take place.

-Two Children are kidnapped by two Terrans. They bear witness to the battle between Gamera and the Terran’s guard dog monster, Guiron. This is also the first sighting of the Space Gyaos species. The Children gain the upper hand on their captors, by stealing their weapons. They then force the aliens to return them to their home planet. Gamera in toe.  The aliens reveal that Gamera had never truly defeated Guiron, and teleport him and a space Gyaos under their control  to earth to wreak havoc. Once the children are far enough away, Gamera destroys the space ship, with the two aliens inside. Gamera defeats the two monsters, but nobody believes the children as far as the alien stuff is concerned as Gamera basically destroyed all the evidence and the two children and a Giant monster are the only witnesses. The only one that does believe them is Asagi, due to her connection with Gamera.

-The Virasians invade the earth. Their plans are foiled by The J.S.D.F, Asagi, and the Kennys from my version of Gamera vs Guiron, who are older and thus less annoying. Angered by this, Viras (their leader) forcibly merges the other Virasians with him and grows huge. Gamera battles him and manages to beat him. Viras would then be frozen by the J.S.D.F’s freeze weapons and thrown into the bottom of the sea by Gamera, where he would slowly thaw out.

      - The events of Zigra’s appearance  in #2 the Dark Horse Gamera comics take place.

1999-The events of Gamera 3: Revenge of Irys take place. This happens after the events of Godzilla 2000.

2006-Gamera: The Brave happens, but the flashback scene of Gamera in the movie is changed to be more accurate to Gamera 3.  Gamera is also not killed, and goes into hibernation to regenerate from his wounds.  The film happens unaltered after this.

2016-A city is attacked by hordes of Gyaos. Gamera fights them off (see, Gamera 20?? trailer).

    • Ultraman Timeline:

The Ultraman timeline in this project will use the main Nebula M78 universe as it’s basis.

All of the events in this universe will have taken place. However I do need to see some things up and explain some stuff.

-The reason the Ultras have never encountered Godzilla and/or Gamera before is because the monster were either

      1. Dormant.

      2. Not threatening humanity.

As such, I have adjusted the timeline accordingly:

1966-Gamera was not active and Godzilla was barely active

1967-The events of Son of Godzilla took place on Sogell Island, thus not affect anything else. Gamera briefly battled a Gyaos at this time but that didn’t really affect anything either.

1968-The events of Destroy all Monsters took place in between the finale of Ultraseven and the beginning of Return of Ultraman

1969-Godzilla was not threatening humanity, and Gamera wasn’t doing much of anything.

1971-Godzilla vs Hedorah happened before Ultraman Jack’s series began..

1972-Godzilla vs Gigan took place in between the finale of Jack and the beginning of Ace.

1973-Godzilla vs Megalon happened in between the finale of Ace and the beginning of Taro.

1974-Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla took place in between the finale of Taro and the Beginning of Leo.

1975-Terror of Mechagodzilla happened after the finale of Leo.

1980-Godzilla and Gamera weren’t doing anything.

2006-Toto defeated Zedus before GUYS could deal with the problem.

I will also be adding some Ultras from different timelines into this one.  For example,The Ultimate Hero,Towards the Future, The adventure begins, Neos, and Max all happened  in this universe. I don’t care if it brings up plotholes.  Time to explain how the never fought Godzilla and/or Gamera again!

1989-Ultraman: the Adventure begins took place after Godzilla vs Biollante.

1990-Godzilla wasn’t doing anything, and was likely still recovering from the ANEB.

1993-The series took place in America, so it was highly unlikely that Powered would ever have interacted with Godzilla.

2001-Ultraman Neos took place before GMK.

2005-Godzilla wasn’t doing anything, and neither was Gamera.

Now for the Most recent Ultra series titles, and how they fit in:

-Ultraman Ginga takes place in the Future, as does the Dark Spark War.

-Ultraman X takes place even farther in the Future, thus the highly advanced technology, and Humanity’s better understanding of the Spark Dolls.

      And Finally:

2016-The original Ultraman has retired and living on earth with his son, Shinjiro. The Other Ultra Brothers (sans Taro,Zoffy,Astra,Mebius,80, and honorary member Rabbidog) are also living on earth. He rises once more briefly to battle Zaragas.

NOTE: The events of any other films or shows by Tsuburaya Productions have also taken place.

      The Raptor Timeline

      I created my own timeline.

Let me explain this time line

      The Great Gem War

Peridot creates both Raptor and Gojira the main pont they were created was to win the Great Gem War but Godzilla 1954 was just uncontrolable even for Home World so Yellow Diamont put him in hibernation mode and send him to Earth thinking he woud be destoryed wen the Cluster emerged as for Raptor, Paridot put a little bit of Gojira's DNA (because Utahraptors are loyal to the leader, that being Yellow Diamont)

      Godzilla 1954

Gojira gets awekend and i don't need to explain the movie

      GMK

Home World thinks is a good idea to bring Gojira back and this time controled by them. But Home World fails thanks to the three Guardian Monsters

      Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla

A new Godzilla shows up to battle Kiryu

      Tokyo S.O.S.

The same Godzilla form 2002 shows up battle Mothra and Kiryu

      Godzilla: Final Wars

The Godzilla form 2002 (regenerated from his scar) battles tons of monsters and Raptor tries to help

      RWBY Volume 1

9 years after the happenings of Godzilla: Final Wars Raptor meets Ruby Rose and her team

      Godzilla 2014

Knowing that the M.U.T.Os. are there somewere Raptor decides to take action for the good of humanity

      And that's it! :)

So the only significant change you would make is adding your OC to the timline?

    • I know I posted this here already, I posted it on the new site too, but I'd really like some feedback because this is something I'm proud of:

      Godzilla (1954)

Serizawa's sacrifice is in vain as Godzilla does not die, but is instead horribly weakened and maimed

      Godzilla Raids Again (1956)

Would be given more production time (you may or not be aware that this movie was scripted, shot, and released in less than a year)

The same Godzilla from the first film, with hideous scarring a la ShinGoji, makes a destructive trek across Japan to tangle with Anguirus, who Godzilla defeats and kills.

      Son of Godzilla (1957)

A similar film to the 1967 classic (I love that movie) but with a more serious tone and direct peril to the human cast from even smaller Kamacuras, and an even bigger Kumonga, introduces us to  a more human Godzilla and a world potentially full of monsters

Godzilla and Rodan once again fight together to bring down Space Ghidorah (a purplish Ghidorah that breathes fire)

Godzilla is overwhelmed and seemingly killed by his monster foes.

      Toho's THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS (1988)

A remake of the classic Harryahusen film tells the new origin for Rhedosaurus. Rhedosaurus appears in 1886 near the US Navy base in Norfolk, Virginia and wreaks havoc on the East Coast, killing millions in New York City before disappearing entirely.

The original Godzilla (as in the one from 1985-1987) makes a triumphant return, fighting his destructive counterpart

The original Godzilla (as in the one from 1985-1987) makes a triumphant return, fighting his destructive counterpart

      Cool timeline. I like it.

      Thanks, mate

    • So does Godzilla regenerate from his "horrible scarring" at some point, or is that one a seperate Godzilla?

    • My shoot at this:

Gojira-Everything is normal, but godzilla is 80 meters tal, and never got killed by the oxygen destroyer that just enrages him more, he destroys Tokyo,Osaka and an unknown island.

Godzilla Raids Again-there are two Anguirus this time:the original(showa) and a baby one(millenium), Godzilla lost part of his tail and his jaw, but horribly maimed the adult Anguirus by taking his shell and exposing his muscles and bones, it retreats and the baby one runs to the island, that mutates him while he's there

      Roden-Happes Unaltered

      Mothra movie-Happens unaltered

The Mysteryans-Moguera fights against the Baby Aguirus, now fully grown and loses, this Anguirus proceeds to rampage until Mothra shows up and beats him

-Godzilla vs King Kong-Godzilla rips off one of Kong's arms, he retreats and thinks up of a way to defeat godzilla, the fights happens unaltered except for Kong having to struggle because of his arm, at the end Kong dies, but before impales Godzilla with his remaining arm and traps him at a sea cavern

-Ghidorah happens, but without Godzilla, in his place there is anguirus Sr and Anguirus Jr, the older one dies at the end and Ghidorah retreats.

-Mothra vs Godzilla happens, but Godzilla wins this one

-Rebirth of Mothra Trilogy happens unaltered

(from now on every single mothra appearance will be mothra leo)

-Godzilla vs Gigan happens, But Godzilla gets killed at the end due to Gigan impaling him and ghidorah throwing him at the Sun, but not before Godzilla rips his wings and breaks gigans saw his his dorsal plates. Anguirus finish the fight by himself against the weakened monsters.

-Son of Godzilla-Rodan discovers Minya, and helps him for some unknown reason, every single human dies because Minya accidentally fired atomic smoke rings at them.

(the showa series ends there, godzilla is dead for a while)

-Return of Godzilla(Birth of SpaceGodzilla)-Some ships discover an unknown crystalized meteor at the sea, when they come to investigate, SpaceGodzilla appears, this version, in fact, is the original Godzilla, but heavily mutated, but now much as the SG we know, the Super X is able to do much more, havily injurying godzilla and the crystals starts cracking, the military discovers that the crystals are a parasitic organism that powers up the individual, but also mutates him and turns it more agressive. After a fight with and Adult Minya, the crystals break free from godzilla and flees to the space, Godzilla is now 120 meters tal for the rest to Heisei series, and Minya is an adult

-Godzilla vs King Ghidorah happens, but there's no time travel to kill godzilla and create king ghidorah, instead they pretend their ghidorah is a weapon to kill godzilla, but fails because Minya and Godzilla overpowers him easily, the rest of the movie happens unaltered, but Minya is heavily injuried in an effort to kill M.K.G and is missing for the rest of the heisei era.

-Godzilla vs Mothra happens, Godzilla is defeated by mothra Leo and kills Bathra also.

      -Godzilla vs Biollante never happened

-Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla-the Space Nebula M aliens team up with the defeated futurians and creates Mechagodzilal, that is disguised as Adult Minya to lure godzilla to it, Rodan and Anguirus notices that it isn't Minya and fight it and peel of some of his fake skin, then are Overpowered, Rodan flees without his legs and Anguirus is wounded and left to die, Godzilla starts fighting MG later, putting a very good fight despite being clearly being overwhelmed by his mechanical doppleganger and is apparently killed, King Caesar is summoned and teams up with the Super X2 in order to fight MG, the Super X2 isn't destroyed, just heavily damaged and both Minya and Godzilla manages to destroy MG

-Godzilla vs Hedorah and Megalon-due to all his allies being either heavily wounded or missing, but Minya and Godzilla are forced to fight against 2 kaiju each:Megalon and Ghidorah for Godzilla and Gigan and Hedorah for Minya, this shows Minya being more creative and/or smarter than his father by using his atomic breath to fight and throwing hedorah in front of Ghidorah's gravity beams, both survives, but Godzilla lost his left hand and Minya is blind at his right eye.(I put it at the Heisei Series, I liked this)

-Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2-the G.D.F(now recently formed) builds a mecha at the remains of Super X2, the alien MG and MKG, this god of machinery is able to destroy both rodan and godzilla alone, but Minya absorvs their radiation and gains the spiral breath, and destroys the SMG despiste being beaten a lot because of his right eye.

      -Terror of Mechagodzilla never happened

-Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla-the crystals turned themselves into a clone of Godzilla, G.D.F builds M.O.G.U.E.R.A, the only difference is that Moguera is actually a way more powerfull, being able to hold off his fight with SG without much problem.

-Godzilla vs Destroyah-the thing that happened in the movie, but Minya and Anguirus fights destoroyah, both dies

      -Godzilla:Resurgence:???

I think that that particular Godzilla would retain the scarring til its death in King Kong vs. Godzilla. The new Godzilla in the proceeding films would be devoid of scars, in keeping with the kid-friendly direction of the Showa series

You're right, I really don't. But that's not the reason for the change. I think the power of the Oxygen Destroyer should be great, but I also want to keep the original Godzila alive, so horrific maiming it is

Kool. I like GyakushuGoji myself, but it's one of those suits that looks pretty bad from certain angles.

    • Well this thread has been inactive for about two years, and I've been inactive for about as long, but I was thinking about this earlier today for whatever reason, and have sort of a new spin to add to this thread; Not changing the plots of the movies as much, but adding thematic depth to some franchise entries that are lacking in it, and cutting out certain decisions that were made in the interest of money, preserving the artistic integrity of G54:

      SHOWA CONTINUITY

Godzilla: Why make literally any changes? It's damn near perfect, and without it this thing that unites all the people on this Wiki wouldn't exist

Godzilla Raids Again: I've always felt that this movie kind of knows that it doesn't have a reason to exist beyond the fact that Godzilla made a ton of money and Tomoyuki Tanaka demanded a sequel, but here's my take on how it should have been approached: The best of humanity (Serizawa) makes a sacrifice at the end of G54, but nature always strikes back. The universe is unknowable in scale and in vastness of power and cannot be put down, so Serizawa's sacrifice is ultimately in vain as Godzilla returns, and this time he's not alone, as Anguirus appears at the same time.

      Rodan: Leave it be

Varan the Unbelievable: This is the first film where the military might of the growing JSDF is really emphasized, at a time when another World War looked all but certain. Varan's vanquishing should be a celebration of the fact that Japan has the military might and ingenuity to do what needs to be done to protect themselves

      Mothra: Leave it be

King Kong vs. Godzilla: Wowee, we sure got to the silly and commercial ones quicker than I thought, but KKvG has such a charm, I can't bring myself to change much of anything about it. Making it a serious piece of high art would almost detract from what makes it enjoyable.

Mothra vs Godzilla: Godzilla's first encounter with the protector of Infant Island is pretty thematically light but very focused, and I'm fine with it staying that way.

Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster: This is a little bold: Godzilla has traditionally been a symbol of nuclear destruction and, by extension, the consequences of the existence of nuclear weapons. So maybe this can be the film that finally reconciles the fact that nuclear weapons are part of our world now, and they won't go away, so maybe they can protect us from bigger threats that we can't always prepare for. These potentially cataclysmic acts of hostility by foreign powers can take the form of Ghidorah, which Godzilla and all of his nuclear allies must band together to confront, to prevent the end of the world.

Invasion of Astro-Monster: Just a thematic continuation of what was set up in Ghidorah

Godzilla vs The Sea Monster: Just let it be Operation Robinson Crusoe: King Kong vs Ebirah, like it was originally intended to be

Son of Godzilla: The first of many meta-commantaries, commentaries on the nature of the Godzilla movies themselves, reflexive commentaries, if you will. Basically, for Godzilla, going on fifteen years old as a franchise by this point, to continue to thrive, it needs to evolve, sybolized on dual fronts by the emergence of Minilla, the literal evolution of Godzilla, and Godzilla's arc as far as growing to care for Minilla, growing into and accepting the role of hero and protector

Destroy All Monsters: Leave it be, it's a f****** classic, an absolute delight. But this is the end of the Showa Era as I see it thematically.

GODZILLA'S REVENGE: To tell you the truth, I'm at a loss for how to approach a couple of thelater Showa era films. I'll leave this one be.

GODZILLA VS THE SMOG MONSTER: Ditto

GODZILLA VS GIGAN: There's this idea that the Space Hunter Nebula M aliens are trying to save the Earth from humanity, which I would like to see explored a little further. Maybe Gigan isn't as sadistic, maybe there can even be a sympathetic facet to him that could add both to his character (though it would modify him significantly going forward) and to the thematic depth of the film

GODZILLA VS MEGALON: Perfect. Best movie ever made. Don't change a thing

GODZILLA VS MECHAGODZILLA/ TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA: End the Showa era one a positive note. Godzilla fights for Earth and for humanity against his counterpart from a supposedly technologically-superior race, but he comes out on top not once but twice. In the vein of how Captain Marvel is a celebration of humanity and human individuality (it is, shut up), these films can do basically that.

      HEISEI ERA

Return of Godzilla: Leave it be

Godzilla vs Biollante: Leave it be

Godzilla vs King Ghidorah: The only change I would make is that maybe it should be a deeper dive into Japan's place on the world stage, and how a shift in that would bring about a thing like the Futurians doing what they end up doing and (spoilers) trying to destroy Japan and nip the burgeoning economic power in the bud. How? I couldn't tell you, I'm not an expert in Japanese economics and geopolitics circa 1991

Godzilla vs Mothra: A pretty incurious and shallow environmental message bogs down this film. I'd retool it by returning Godzilla to his roots and making him nature's revenge against the folly of man, with Mothra rising as the more maternal, nurturing natural force that will protect and guide humanity down the right path. And for the love of god, give Akira Takarada something to do

Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II: A melding of the themes from the previous two films, in keeping with how, like GvKG, a mecha ends up having to protect humanity from Godzilla, and, like GvM, Godzilla is back to being a pure villain again. This, I feel, could turn it from one of the least sophisticated films in the Heisei Era to one of the most interesting (even if it doesn't turn out good)

Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla: Strike it entirely from the canon, honestly. It really holds no thematic value, in my eyes. I really can't stand this movie.

Godzilla vs Destoroyah: The erasure of GvSG means that this movie can come out in 1994 and be a fitting 40th anniversary tribute to Godzilla like it deserves.

Godzilla '98: I need this film to continue to exist so the Millenium films can act as a direct refutation of it

      MILLENNIUM ERA

Godzilla 2000: Millenium: This film opens with true blue Godzilla, with a really great slow-burn sort of intro. Lean more into that, maybe a sort of horror-driven edge to Godzilla, and a real focus on the classic elements of the character. Show Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich how it's done

Godzilla vs Megaguirus: I'm open to suggestions. This is another one that, like SpaceGodzilla, has always felt a little hollow and worthless to me. I'm open to suggestions on how to go about fixing this one, I don't know where to begin

GMK: I may not love everything it does, but it goes for a lot of different ideas regarding Godzilla as a manifestation of revenge and grief that I feel goes a long way toward reintroducing the classic ideas of the franchise for the 21st century

The Kiryu Saga: I'm going to share with you all a comment I left on Up From The Depths's review of Tokyo SOS (check out his videos if you're not already familiar, he makes wonderful content that has had a lot of influence on the way I approach writing about Godzilla (something I do a lot these days):

I think we share some of the same frustrations as far as the 'Kiryu Saga' is concerned: They're visually spectacular and brimming with potential, but shallow in pretty much every regard besides visual. I had this thought while I was listening to this review, an idea of what these movies could have been, that might have alleviated our frustrations. Imagine Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla as a meta-commentary on the direction the franchise has taken. Mechagodzilla is literally a perversion of the remains of the original Godzilla, there's so much thematic potential there as far as the state of the franchise in that concept, and could go any number of ways. And then, instead of rushing Tokyo SOS out for a 2003 release, make it the golden anniversary of the G-Man. This would serve the dual purpose of giving the filmmakers time to craft a more engaging narrative around the monsters, and sending a message for Godzilla's 50th, the same one the Shobijin are sending to the human characters of Tokyo SOS; Out of respect for Godzilla, it's time to let him return to the sea, to put him (both as an in-universe being and as a franchise) to rest.

I know it's long but I like to think it's worth a read

BECAUSE OF THE PREVIOUS CHANGES, GODZILLA: FINAL WARS DOES NOT EXIST

      Godzilla (2014): Let it be

Shin Godzilla: My ideal Godzilla film in every way. Don't change a single thing

Kong: Skull Island: I'm totally fine with the idea that thecurrent wave of American kaiju films can exist as a love letter to what came before, and the MonsterVerse's first universe-expanding entry achieves this at every turn

Godzilla: King of the Monsters: Ditto
