Bernie Hayes[]

Though he was unfamiliar with the conspiracy theorist initially, Trapper gradually came to warm up to Bernie, helping guide him through the Hollow Earth's landscape, which Bernie is awed by. History[]

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire[]

Trapper first appears when Kong arrives to the surface with an infected tooth, seeking help. He was more than happy to oblige with treating the giant ape, and soon got to work replacing the infected canine with a metallic one. As Kong recovers and prepares to return to the Hollow Earth, Trapper, Ilene Andrews, and Jia make preparations to embark for the same destination, as they intend to investigate a mysterious unidentified signal emanating from the Hollow Earth. Bernie Hayes requests to join them in their Hollow Earth Aerial Vehicle, and although harshly rebuffed by Mikael, Trapper relents and allows Bernie to join them.

Upon arriving in the Hollow Earth, Trapper camouflages his group's HEAV to resemble Vertacines. Trapper and his group eventually arrive at the destroyed remains of their Monarch outpost, along with a mysterious handprint left behind on the debris. They manage to find security footage recording an ape-like creature attacking the outpost before continuing to follow the mysterious signal. However, an electromagnetic interference forces them to continue their expedition on foot. Trapper allows a mosquito to drink blood from his skin before he warns the others about the scent of rotting flesh. Mikael dismisses Trapper's warning and gets eaten by a Tree Mimic. Trapper and his group flee to a safer area before he comforts the terrified Bernie.

When Trapper and his group venture further into the Hollow Earth jungle, they discover a temple dedicated to Mothra, which leads them to the city of Malenka and a surviving Iwi tribe within the Hollow Earth. They learn that the signal was actually a telepathic distress call the tribe sent to Godzilla. Trapper and his group then come across stone reliefs depicting the Skar King leading Shimo and his army in conquering the surface world before Godzilla imprisoned them. As Bernie continues to document the Iwi and Malenka, Trapper convinces him to keep the discoveries to himself so the Iwi's way of life will not be changed by the outside world. Afterwards, they encounter an injured Kong, who's accompanied by Suko. Trapper is able to diagnose that Kong's right arm had been severely frostbitten, and instead of regular medical treatment, Trapper proposes to return to destroyed Monarch outpost proceed with the B.E.A.S.T. Glove to heal Kong's injury. The B.E.A.S.T. Glove helps Kong recovers as Suko alerts the group of the approaching Skar King and his army. While Kong heads to the surface to bring Godzilla, Trapper and his group witness Jia awakening Mothra in Malenka.

While Ilene and Bernie stay with the Iwi to prepare the city's defenses, Trapper uses the HEAV to lead a large Vertacine flock in temporarily distracting the Skar King and his army. Trapper rescues his group as Godzilla, Kong, and Mothra arrive to battle the Skar King. Trapper starts to lose control of the HEAV when Malenka's pyramids unleash an anti-gravitational shockwave, only for Mothra to rescue him and his group. Following the Skar King's death, Trapper, Ilene, Bernie, and Jia celebrate their victory with the Iwi.
