The Type 10 Tank (10式戦車,   Hitomaru-shiki Sensha?) is a main battle tank of the J.S.D.F. produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. The Type 10 Tank was first featured in the 2016 Godzilla film, Shin Godzilla.

The Type 10 appears as a typical modern MBT. It possesses common MBT equipment: a large cannon as its main weapon, a roof mounted machine gun, and a CITV camera for observation. It is distinguished by several things, such as its two antennas on the rear of the turret, 6 pairs of roadwheels and one pair of drive wheels on each side, and sloped, angular armor modules on the turret. They typically display a 2-toned camouflage scheme.

Shin Godzilla

After Godzilla emerged once more in Sagami Bay near Kamakura and began his advance to Tokyo, the JSDF mobilized its forces, which included Type 10 Tanks, to attack him. Despite the dozens of 120mm tank gun salvos, it did little against Godzilla, merely slowing down his advance. Godzilla would eventually disable several Type 10s after he knocked wreckage into the tanks.

120mm L44 cannon

The Type 10 carries a 120mm L44 smoothbore cannon fitted with an automatic loader as its main weapon. It possesses several types of ammunition suited for different targets.

.50 BMG heavy machine gun

This tank is equipped with an M2HB 12.7mm heavy machine gun, mounted on the roof of the tank.

7.62mm machine gun

This tank is equipped with a 7.62mm light machine gun as a coaxial machine gun, next to the main cannon.

Hydropneumatic suspension

The Type 10 possesses an adjustable hydropneumatic suspension, giving it a smoother ride and allowing it to adjust the angle of its hull.
